Default C7 front height

Looking at some new 2018 C7 coupes, the front bumper seems lower to me than my C5. My concern is will the front of the C7 scrape my driveway apron. My C5 does scrape the driveway a little but the car has been lowered an inch. Does anyone know if a C7 is lower than a C5 both cars being stock? Also can a C7 be raised or lowered like a C5.

Can’t speak to the C5 but the C7 is slightly higher than my C6. My C6 air dam scraped the driveway slightly every time I left. Not bad but would have to sand the bottom about once/year to smooth the rough edge.

My C7 Z51 and Grand Sport side air dams (don’t have centers) don’t scrape unless I pull out from where the driveway meets the road, very fast. Others report the same re C7 versus C6.

Scraping the air dam slightly is no big deal, they are designed to scrape and bend.

First, are you scraping the front fascia or the air dam on your C5? If it is the air dam then I wouldn't worry as the air dams are meant to scrape. However, if you are scraping the bottom of the front fascia you may have more of a problem.

Not sure what you may purchase but I have a 15 Z06/Z07 with the Stage 3 Aero. The tip of the front splitter is 5 5/8 inches off the ground and 34.5 inches ahead of the center of the front wheel where it touches the ground. The stock front splitter is a $2000 carbon fiber part so keeping it away from curbs and steep driveways is important.

Here is a diagram showing my car's measurements. I put these together when I was purchasing a trailer and didn't want to drag parts on the ramp.

Z07s are usually about a half inch higher than Stingray's, however, GM has something like a .6 inch tolerance on the ride height measured from the ground to the center of the wheel arches.

Here is the GM Ride Height info:

Yes, the C7 can be raised or lowered just like the C5.

My C6 GS rubbed the air dam and the front splitter on the driveway all of the time. It rubbed bad enough that I replaced the front splitter at 35,000 miles because it looked like it had been attacked by a cheese grater. With my 19 GS only the air dam rubs and not all of the time. YOu can get an idea how my driveway transition is to the street.
