While true that the auto-dimming feature would have no effect with our C7 blind spot mirror in place, there is a reduction in reflected brightness due to the curvature of the reflective surface. Instead of being reflected directly (into your eyes), light is dispersed and has less visual intensity. This will compensate a lot for the loss of auto-dimming.
Anyone who is unsure about it can purchase our C7 blind spot mirror and give it a try. Just attach it temporarily using some removable tape to try it out. DON"T USE THE ADHESIVE STRIPS ON THE PRODUCT!
If you like it, simply attach it permanently using the adhesive strips.
If you don't like it, you can return it for a full refund. You only pay one way shipping back to us.
Well, we got the mirror you sent us but it may be July before we get into the specified 70'-90' temperature range for installing. Maybe I could use rubber bands or zip ties...
So I had installed one of the small stick on "blind spot" mirrors that covers the full length of the bottom quarter of the drivers mirror. That was an improvement over just the standard mirror with the increased field of view.
I just installed the CCA mirror and not only do I love the clean look of the mirror as opposed to what I had before, it's a major improvement in the field of view. With the two mirrors installed it created a little confusion as what you were seeing. And when you are using your mirrors the more time you are looking at them the more time you are NOT looking straight ahead. With the CCA mirror a quick glance tells you everything you need to know behind and beside you. It feels much safer. I highly recommend it.
I just replaced my small circular blind spot mirror with this one, and although it doesn't give me quite the extreme view that the circle did, it looks WAY better and will still be functional / help significantly with lane changes. Note that the angle of the pictures isn't exactly what I see since the camera was an inch or two in front of my face, but you get the idea:
before:
After:
and after adjusting the mirror:
Also a pro-tip for the install, use a little bit of painters tape (or small suction cup) to guide the mirror on:
Look at the left mirror and then the right. They're not the same, they're a mirror image of each other. You may be able to shoehorn it in but it would look gack.
Jury rigging it on passenger side is also not advisable because the image reflected will be too small. The image is considerably smaller than the stock passenger side mirror.

I think you're correct, but am still trying to figure out what he means in post #29.

Any time you get a more wide-angle view, the image will of course look smaller. That's why the stock passenger side says "Object in Mirror Are Closer..."
But I still wish the stock passenger mirror had a wider angle, I'd be willing to do a temporary install on something that might work.
Our modestly expensive Toyota RAV4 has blind spot indicators in the outside mirrors. Orange icons that warn you if a car is side by side in a precarious blind spot. Two indicators in each, one for close and really close. It is incredible how useful this simple feature is. This from a car that cost 1/3 of a C7. It is inexcusable, my C7 doesn't have this. Though easy to know why. GM dumbs it down to save a few bucks. For those of you who buy into the 'driving experience' intrusion argument, I'd offer two things. One, is safety important when you have you son, daughter, wife, or grandkids in the car? Second, the blind spot feature can be toggled off for those who answered no. Though I can't imagine who would. Answer no nor toggle it off.
There-is no room in the rear end for the blind spot electronics with the radiators and such. Tadge answered this question in his response section if you want more details.

There is an option. A member here made up several driver side mirrors that were cut down from euro volvo driver side mirrors. I bought the last one. You could do the same by locating some right side euro volvo mirrors and cutting one down to fit the right side. If you do I definitely would buy one.
Looking into this. Thanks.
What sucks about this is i JUST put one of those swivel-type circle mirrors on my mirrors yesterday before seeing this post. They work well, but I do realize the limitations.
Someone asked about whether the right side mirror is also available. Is it?
