Default Autocross manual or Automatic

Looking at a C7 , I occasionally autocross..currently running a C4 Convertible with Manual. I find with the manual I can control the drift (not talking about drifting like the rice burners with the tires on fire) in the turns easily with the throttle, I’ve seen many with automatic’s spinning out in the Turns ... I do prefer the manual for daily driving but is the Manual a better choice for autocross or am I just hanging on to old ideas... btw never I drag race so don’t need the automatic for that...

I have the A6 Z51 and it's good, but I would prefer a M7 gearbox. With auto rev matching and long gears it's fine to daily and in traffic. Much funner to drive and a MGW or the upgraded lower box really makes a world of difference.

I seem to put down better times than the A8 drivers around me, and I don't think it's skill. I run Stingray wheels in standard size not Z51 but it does well. Could be the mag ride helping though.

I have more fun in my S2000 though

I’m thinking of a base C7 coupe with Z51 wheels, 7 speed manual, magnetic ride control, performance exhaust and 1LT interior.. not a wide body fan.. I’ve driven a Z06 and the power to handling balance isn’t there for me..
