I’ve read the posts from guys complaining about the NPP, which is ruled by the computer, not the driver. It’s loud when the computer wants it to be loud (I believe above 3500 rpm) and wimpy otherwise. In their desperation, guys have pulled fuses, risking a code, to keep the valves open.
Southern Car Parts (good folks) advertises a mild2wild switch. Has anybody tried it? Does it work well?
Plenty of owners have the mild to wild switch and like it as it does what it is supposed to do. I elected to pull fuse #87 on my 20 19 Vette and it does not throw any codes and keeps the valves open 100% of the time. .
I personally love mine. Had one on my C6 and now on the C7. I like being able to switch between open (loud) and closed (quiet) with the push of a button. The car will start in the open (loud) mode. But with the control mounted right beside the "Start" button you can hit the "Start" button and immediately hit the green "On" button and if you're quick it will essentially start quiet. And the loud mode is just like pulling the fuse and that guarantees that the valves stay open all the time and are not effected by the programmed closing that happens in the stock system even when set to "Track" mode. I recommend it.
#3 on the Homelink
yesterday was the first time in 6 months of ownership I had the roof off. Was awesome listening to the Borla ATAK exhaust and x pipe with all valves open...hard to keep the right foot out of it.
Thanks, guys. I’ll have to look into this Homelink thing.
I like the looks of the NPP, but was turned off by the computer involvement, so I ordered standard exhaust (wimp city) on my 2014 C7 and immediately replaced it with aftermarket. Problem solved. Valves always open. Great sound all the time.
Now that I’m about to order a 2019 C7, I was wondering if there is an easier way. Thanks for the ideas!
Interesting - was not aware you could use the homelink visor to do that.
It’s easy, only issue is you have to use two buttons, one for open and one for closed. If you have to control more than one garage door, it’s easier to just mount the little controller on the dash.
