I'm guessing you don't have factory navigation? If you do, all you need is an active XM satellite subscription to TravelLink.

Use waze, no factory nav. Maybe waze will add weather one day.

GM doesnt spell this out too well. Why? They want you to buy wifi from them, but you may not need to. Most cell providers give you wifi hotspot tethering free of charge. If so, simply turn on hotspot tethering on your cell phone, then set up link through your car stereo head unit, under settings wifi. Once you do that, there are many apps you can add to the car, one of which is Weather Channel. I use the radar quute often when traveling on the open road to get a heads up on inclimate weather ahead. I have helped a number of folks in my club set this up, as the owners manual eludes to it, but doesnt really spell out how to do it. It us very easy actually.

I would double check that your car is successfully tethered to your phone. Try to tether your car to your home wifi network and see if that works. If you are successfully tethered, you need to download and install the weather app first that is found by going to the SHOP Icon on the infotainment screen. Once that is done, everytime you tether your car to your phone's hotspot or any hotspot, you will be able to use the Weather Channel icon in your infotainment screen to show Weather information including radar.
