Default Side skirts

I’m looking into buying a set but there are so many options. Plastic, fiberglass, carbon fiber. I tend to stay away from non USA parts. Prices are all over the place. I’m thinking carbon fiber so I don’t have to deal with having someone paint them and dealing with any imperfections. Anyone have carbon fiber skits and love them? Pros and cons? Which brand and how much did you pay? Thanks in advance.

Love mine from RPI. They were reasonably priced and fit well. Also have the matching splitter. They are carbon fiber.

I got mine from C7 Carbon. I saw them installed for just a couple days then had to bring my car back to the body shop for something. I'll post plenty of pics when I have her back long enough...LOL....AND when I finally give her a decent bath.

but

I was impressed with C7 Carbon's skirt...similar to the Z06 skirt is what I got...carbon flash color. I believe theirs are fiber glass.

Keep in mind that "carbon fiber" is a bit misleading. The lower priced parts from RPI, C7Carbon, etc are fiberglass with 1 ply of carbon fiber over the top. There's nothing wrong with that, they look great, RPI and C7Carbon both fit very well, and look like the factory parts. GM parts are truly 100% carbon fiber. Katech and as I recall APR Performance are also 100% carbon fiber. You pay for that accordingly.

I have the C7 carbon skirts and stage 2 front splitter, working great 4 years later, I also double tapped them on (albeit with higher end 3M adhesive) and they haven’t budged — check my post history, probably an old thread but should still be back there

seen those too. Look good. I found a pair of fiberglass by a company called Kapilini for $150. Don’t know much about them. If I get the fiberglass I would just have them painted flat black.

Check out ACS Composite if you would consider a Canada based company. I’ve purchased several components and fit/finish has been flawless. A bit pricey, but quality and customer service is outstanding

Just as a note here, I went with some RPI carbon flash painted side skirts. Nice job on the paint in the areas that will show and fit was good except for the front mounting hole which had to be elongated to match up with the existing factory screw. Was not really a major problem and RPI was notified of the issue - they may have taken corrective action by now.

Once installed the skirts are very solid on the car and look great.

Thanks everyone for your input. I found a brand new GM set of carbon flash on Facebook marketplace. The guy was asking $500 and I got them for $400. Guy said Firestone broke his front Lip and had to buy him a new one. Guy said GM would only sell it as a kit with the skirts and he didn’t need the skirts so he listed them for sale. He showed me the invoice. $2800 wow. So he gets $400 for his troubles because Firestone didn’t ask for the skirts.
