Default Purchasing this Fall/Winter

Hey Gang,

Looking to purchase 2019 LBR 2LT Stingray this fall/winter. MSRP 65K. Currently pricing around 50k from the big dealers. Any idea of what the price would look like this fall/winter?
Incentives? Types? Look forward to your thoughts. Previous owner of five different Vettes. Looking to get back in the fold. Happy Easter everyone!

You might see prices in the mid forties depending on options, but with current pricing and incentives the availability of color/trim/options you are looking for will be greatly diminished. Just my opinion....

65 msrp down to around 50 looks good to me.

Chances of finding exactly what you want in the fall may be slim.

Odds of finding "exactly" what you want this fall will be greatly diminished. Know one really knows what the future might hold but 20% off sticker is a good price. Don't know I would risk it if I found something I really wanted.

Prices and choices will both go down. If want a 1LT Auto with a black interior you shouldn't have much of a problem. If you have a list of requirements you can't live without you will be more disappointed the longer you wait.

I agree. The supply of C7s will diminish as production winds down and if you can find just what you want now at a good discount, it may be a great time to make the purchase.

So you're asking us to predict what leftover C7's will be selling for in 6- 12 months?

Best advice; you snooze, you lose. That car won't be around in 9 months.

No one knows what the incentives will be, GM only announces them at the beginning of each month, and no one knows what prices will be on c7s in 6-8 months.

If you want exactly what you want, you should call a dealer (preferably Mike Furman at Criswell) and talk to him about the best/latest time you can order.

Actually, if he shops the Internet, he can get a much better deal than he can from Mike Furman. I bought locally in Texas and got -20% off MSRP, on a new 2017 in 2017. Mike couldn't have come anywhere near -20% for the same new C7.

I was in the same position last May after the NCM April event where Corvette Engineers/Management announced Admiral blue paint would be discontinued for the new model year I had to either risk ordering and not getting admiral blue given orders were 6 to 8 weeks out or buying one at a dealer in Admiral Blue with close to my wish list of options. I was fortunate I was able to find one in late may at Macmulkin Chevy in NH. with 80% of the options I wanted. Just my $.02 when you are spending this kind of $ you mind as well get what you want now while choices are present.

Good Luck

A 1 off 20% deal isn't the norm. he can shop anywhere he likes, I was just suggesting he call a dealer soon and get some advice based on what he wants and considering build out will happen before fall/winter.

Since production will have already ended, you will be limited to available inventory on dealer's lots. This will be uncharted territory since this will be the end of the current Corvette as we know it. It could lead to greatly diminished inventory depending on the reception of the C8 and the actual pricing, but we should have a better gauge after July 18th and the months leading up to the C8 being available for sale. If the price didn't drop a dime from today's discounts...The C7 will still be a minimum of $15k less than the C8 will initially be selling for. Unless C7 sales tank from today's levels, I don't foresee any huge across the board discounts, however some motivated dealers may offer one off discounts if they are having issues moving inventory.

I think this true tale above is good advice, as well as all the others that say, now is better than later. Who the heck knows what the discounts MAY be? And let me ask this: do you really care if you get another $2K off if you have to live with the color you really don't want just to get the options you do want? Or vice versa, you get the color you want, but without the options you do want?

If you ask me, find out on here or by calling any of the large dealers like Mike at Criswell, and ask: when is the last day to order a new '19? Then, start looking for what you want, but since you've already found it at what I'd call, a very good price, what are you waiting for?

If dollars are most important to you, then wait until whenever you feel the price has dropped enough for you---but expect to get whatever is left---at a great price, of course. That price--which is also something none of us can predict. You asked for ideas, those are mine. Good luck.

To me it seems the time is now to buy. Great deals, great selections, the stars are aligned...do it now or wait a couple years for a "debugged" C8.

$65k MSRP for $50k, which is 23% off MSRP, seems much higher than the 15% the big dealers are giving off ($9,750), even if it includes the $3k GM loyalty bonus that only gets you to a $12,750 discount.
If you can actually get 23% off MSRP for a 2019, buy it - it won't get any cheaper.

There is a lot to this. I went through this just last year which drove me to my purchase decision. At 59, I am seeing friends and family getting sick, and I felt as I age I may not be able to appreciate the dream, my first new Vette, so I splurged and did it now before I am too old.....if you wait until next year to realize your dreams, you'll only be another year older.......
