A8 class action lawsuit
At the end the letter comes down from the court that says, the attorneys have settled the case for $10 million, you don't have to take the $2.57 cents that is your part BUT.... Much of that $10 million was cost! The law firm probably gets an end year rebate from the printing company where 1000 trees had to be cut to cover the paper needed to send the many thick documents sent by the law firm! If not direct cash, tickets for 5 to the Masters! Paid for those as "incentives" myself! Yep, you can get tickets to anything, even the final 4 or the Super Bowl! Just cost money!
Sidebar:
Remined when I retired and was a consultant for 18 months. Still had my office but was careful not to come in every morning or that same contingent of product, customer service, tech service, marketing communications and training managers would be in my office! So I either came in late or preferably was out of town supporting the regional engineers with large fabricators. Came in one day and saw that a 2 foot stack of technical journals was missing! Found out they were copying every page for a lawsuit. Top lawfirm in the State was hired by the company they were suing.
Went to the copy machine in the area and saw this young lady copying one of my technical journals, page by page! Asked why? Was told there might be a comment or underline that could be related to the suit. Assumed she was a clerk from the law office. She let me know in no uncertain terms she was an attorney! So lets see that is part of "Plus expenses." A junior lawyer is charging to stand there and copy pages in a technical journal.
Remined of cost plus government contacts. What is the incentive when you're limited to 10% profit based on costs? INCREASE COSTS!
