Could you please send me a picture of how it looks on the edges of the window?

I’ll confirm if that is dirt under the tint or not tomorrow morning. What a giant pain in the *** this has been.

To be more specific, the tint should go to the beginning or damn close to the radiused grind on the edge of the glass, not to the end of the glass.

As GTs 58 said, the tint should go to the beginning of the radiused grind on the edge of the glass. That is exactly where my tint ends. Except for the fact the window is darker I can’t tell there is window tint!

Default Ouch

While I feel your pain, if you insist on having someone tint a windshield, you have ask for and apparently got trouble. First, it makes no sense to do it. Second, compound curves, bumps around the mirror mount, difficult access, all portend trouble. Side windows are mostly flat, easy to get at, and hard to screw up. We live in S AZ where the sun shines 350 days a year. Summers are 100+ for several months. And have never considered tinting a windshield. Marginal return for the risk reward.

In addition to the points you made i’ve had to replace my windshield twice because of major cracks so tinting it makes no sense.

lol. Yeah I have no experience with window tint. Insert roll eyes smiley.

I'm not convinced the OP does either or he wouldn't be posting this thread in here asking the questions that he's asking.

This is in the first video that Maxie2U posted. Looks like that tint is a quarter inch shy. Like I said earlier, the tint does not go completely flush with the edge of the glass on operable windows. The good shops around here leave no more than 1/8" from the edge of the glass.

Like I always say, window tint, PPF and ceramic coatings, etc. are only as good as the installer's experience and/or talent.

I would request the remedy their less than stellar work.

Thanks to Jeremy @jagamajajaran for recommending this place. I had XPEL, Tint & Ceramic coating on my C8 done week before Christmas. They did a great job. Very easy to deal with. We dropped the car off on a Tuesday and picked up the car following Monday.

Sorry. I actually posted this in response to a C8 XPEL thread. No idea how this ended up in a C7 forum.

^^^ Probably because you have Infinite Scrolling enabled. When you think you're at the end of a thread, it’ll sometimes kick you into a related thread if you're not paying attention.
