When I first got my '14, I pulled into a gas station with a Prius on the other side of the island.

The owner asked me "I bet that really sucks the gas. What kinda mileage it get?"

"Oh, 22 around town and around 30 on the highway", I responded

"Wow!". he said. "I had no idea those got almost as good mileage as my Prius does".

(I could already feel the smug in this guy, so I responded)

"Yep! And I look good doing it"

My new C7, has attracted more comments (all extremely positive BTW) than my new C3, ever did.

..I knew I was buying the right car when I bought it, but I has no idea it would garner endless positive comments from people that don't own one. It's an amazing vehicle in so many ways. The general public in America, l♡ves these cars ! ♡

..I'm looking forward to picking up a new C8 soon, so the comments and Corvette interest will continue !

What has been really funny has been all the silly Mustang drivers that break their necks trying to catch up to the C7, when out and about. Apparently, Mustangs get NO love !

^^^ If you're getting a C8 soon let everyone else know where you are getting it.

Said to me at the Southwest Oklahoma Corvette Club show, "You can't bring a Ferrari F12 to a Corvette Show".

"Did you use up all your 401K buying that?" I just smiled and told him no.
Had a 20 something year old girl ask if she could come to my house and wash it for me. I figured my wife wouldn't like that so I declined.

Just last week someone asked if it was a Ferrari. I thought I’d never heard anything so daft but then I read two other posts further up that are the same!

Went to a cruise night tonight and had a few people ask me if my car was brand new. They were surprised when I told them it was over 5 years old. Another Corvette owner there (owned a C3), asked if the car was still made of fiberglass.

My 2010 C6 GS in 2014 at a car show, parked next to previous gen Vettes by a family: "Is that the brand new Corvette?! [a C7]"

I parked at a burger place in the C7 with my coworker during lunch and sat a table with the car in view. The kid working there asked if that was my Ferrari parked outside. I looked across the table at my coworker and her confused look and laughed. Thanked the dude and told him it's just a Chevy.

OK, so I'm not the only one that does this?

Went to Five Guys yesterday with my girl and I parked far away from everyone else and as I am about to sit at a table at the back of the restaurant she says to me "Don't you want to sit up by the window so you can see your car?"

It's funny because usually I do, but since I parked so far away I didn't feel the need to watch over yesterday. But sure enough I come out to find cars parked on either side of it in a nearly empty lot.

Why do people do that?

I live in Milford, MI which is where the GM Proving Ground is located. I’m a baby faced 36 years old and when I’m filling up with gas in town I always get asked if I work at the proving ground.

I feel like putting my 401K statement and a picture of my house on my bumper so people know I’m not living out of the Corvette.

I bought my first Vette when I was 25. Also a baby face. At the time I could not buy beer without my ID I got carded every freaking time and the drinking age is only 19 here. Everyone assumed the car was my Dad's. All the time people would say "Nice car; is it your Dad's?" Meanwhile I was married with a kid. LOL.

I'm not a C7 owner, but something happened yesterday at the track that is 100% relevant

there was a black F type there, and some woman was oogling over it, about how sexy and small it was and omg this that and the other

then across the lot, a Z06/Z07 came in the gate and she got sooo excited!!!

"OMG BABE LOOK ITS ANOTHER JAGUAR BUT ITS YELLOW!!!!!"

to her credit, her husband had a really nice turbo 914, but the lady was a special one
