What mileage can I expect with original equipment Michelin tires and normal driving?

You will be doing well to get 25,000 miles, but all depends on your version of normal driving. But that is about what to expect. I drove them aggressively and they were done at 13,000. I drive the same way with my A/S +3 Mich run flats and get 30,000 out of them down to 4/32 tread.

I agree with the estimate of 25K out of the OEM tires, if you are lucky. Inflation PSI, alignment and driving habits will all impact whether that 25K becomes less or more.

I got 23k out of the fronts. The backs have 24,5 and almost to the wear bars. Going to replace them because I have a patch in in both of them.

Since we are taking a survey, probably would help to specify the model vette as a standard stingray may get better miles per tire than a Z51, Grandsport, or Z06. I also got around 25,000 on the original run flats that came on my 2016 Z51. Probably could have gone another thousand or more on the rears but wanted to replace the whole set at the same time.

My fronts were down to 3/32 in the center and to the chords on the inside of the fronts. The rears have a few thousand miles left. Does that mean I have an alignment problem or is that the normal wear out pattern with occasional aggressive driving?

I've heard of about 20,000 - 25,000 depending on driving habits and Toe & Camber set right, I'm getting ready for 500 mile service and it has been suggested to me also get that checked

My ZO6 wore the inners of all 4. I recommend getting an alignment as soon as you get your new tires on. That along with driving habits will be the best way to ensure long tire life if that's a primary concern.

On our 2017 Z51, we will probably get about 25k from the PSS runflats and 40k from the AS3+ runflats. Our GS and Z06 friends are getting about 2/3 of that.

Stopping at ~30,000 miles doesn't really help.

My first set was 35,000 on the fronts, 45,000 on the rears. My second set was 60,000 on the rears, and 60,000 on the fronts.

While I was having some Carbotech brake pads installed, I asked my tire guy why there was such a disparity between the oem and the replacement pair, and he said the tire manufacturers told him on more than one franchisee (or however that works for them) training session that when car manufacturers commission tires for production, they are allowed to custom order the compounds in the tire. They may use different compounds for the first part of the tread, which are softer than "after production tires." It is for ride comfort, and handling (specifically for test driving and early ownership), but the replacement tires come with single tread compound in order to increase the wear rating.

But the OEM tires are (even if they are custom made to the car manufacturers' specs), they are still called the same as the replacement tires from the tire manufacturer.

I had heard this as a rumor before, but this is the first time I had actually heard it from a credible source.

Base Stingray, cruising only. May get 25k on the front, rears are good for a few thousand more. Would like to know the 'secret' to getting 30k per set.

I'm not getting near the mileage on my Super Sports as the other's posting here!

I've got 7,900 on my Z06 and the tread is just barely above the wear bars front and rear. The insides of all 4 tires show additional wear. I've never done a burnout, never tracked the car, but do a lot of spirited driving on back roads.

I have several friends with Z06's and they get between 12-13K out of their tires, but they are worn well beyond the point I'm comfortable with; especially on the inside edges.

I'm having a new set of AS3+ installed today actually.

Good luck with the 20+K some are experiencing! I've never made it that far on any of my vettes!

Alignment, then driving habits. Those are the things that affect tire wear. If you have bad alignment, you'll eat the tires. If you have a heavy camber, you'll eat the tires EVEN if that camber is within specs. Take the turns and check the g-meter for fun, that'll eat the tires.

I run my camber as close to 0 as I can get it. I also try and keep an eye on the toe (Sneaky little bastard) as that will eat the tires too!

If you want to play, crank up the camber. If you want the most mileage from the tires, keep the tires flat on the ground.

There is a code embossed on the sidewall of GM OEM tires that identifies them as meeting the OEM spec.
On our 2017 Z51, the codes are “tPc spec 1431” for the front and “tPc spec 1432” for the rear. If they have that marking, they should be as close to original as Michelin can make them. If not, ???
