Default So, who is purchasing the "new Chevrolet navigation system map update?"

Just got my letter in the mail.

"Only" $99.99!

Hasn't Chevy ever heard of Waze?

I spent 45 years of my life dreaming of having a sports car like the C7 Z06, My wife and I worked hard and saved our money and when the day came that I could buy my dream car I didn't compromise on anything and bought a car with all the bells and whistles( Z06,Z07, 3LZ, PDR, Nav ... ) Yesterday I just had the Magnetic Ride Control new shock update done, So I'll pay $100 to keep the NAV up to date. I also pay to have satellite radio and on star.

For all those here that say I'm just wasting my money. I would argue that ALL 2 seat sport cars are a waste of money, they are nothing more than high priced toys for men.You can get from point A to point B in a brand new 2019 Chevy Sonic LS Sedan for $16,295 +tax and Title and pocket $133,705 over the price of a fully load ZR1. But at the end of the day there is only one thing that puts a bigger smile on my face than driving my Z06 ( if you have to ask what the other thing is you have major problems ) The car is worth every penny that I have spent on it and every penny I'll spend in the future.

What letter did you get? Can you post up a picture of it? Never heard of this before.

I get it. I like to know that I have the latest software.

Just FYI -- $99 is right in the same ballpark as a lot of other major car manufacturers prices for their NAV updates.

Don't think it is worth it? Then don't pay and just use your phone/waze/whatever. Your car won't stop working. No need for drama.

What really changes? I have maps from 3 years ago in my handheld Garmin, and it still gets me where I need to go.

AA and Google Maps. Always up to date and free if you have good data plan.

Just the latest iteration of road data and businesses/attractions data from the map manufacturer. How the Nav operates is unchanged.

Some people complain that roads that have been in place for years are still not on some updates.

There are a lot of new roads going up around residential Las Vegas, and each nav update I've purchased shows more and more of them, so I've been pretty satisfied with the updates. (I've got a 2014, so AA/CarPlay are not available to me)

I did the last upgrade, and I noticed no improvement. The GM navigation is not too good.

If you are going to Bowling Green in August from the north your system may be missing two new interstate bridges crossing the Ohio River at Louisville.

Just upgraded mine. Figured $99 for the latest map/data set was worth it. And I generally use Waze, there have been occasions where I had better luck with the nav system, so happy to update it.

My exact feelings. I would add that although the directions say you cannot drive during the update, as soon as you plug in the USB you will see a message that says "you may drive your vehicle".

Your wasting your money if your within 5 years... Roads and locations (from a GPS perspective) dont change that often where you would be missing a major location... Buy the upgrade every 5 years and you will be fine. I went from a 2014 to a 2019 version and saw ZERO changes in locations, POI, roads, exits, etc...

I bought the update. Mainly because I found the Apple Car Play not reliable in the Corvette. Many times I had the Apple Car Play disconnect while using it. And on a couple of occasions I could not get it to reconnect without turning the car off. I do use an Apple certified cable and I've had it happen plugged into different USB ports..

I know it's not the iPhone (XR) or the cable because when I use them in my Kia Sportage, not once have I ever had it disconnect while in use.

If I did not get the letter, what's the best way to get one?
