i was surprised to read in the thread that mrc is now old school too! apparently the new kid on the block is specifically tuned spool valve dampers, huh?
IMO Mag-Ride is going to disappear in the near future. It is only really changing low-speed damping (shaft speed) It is thickening/thinning the shock fluid, it is NOT actually changing the piston hole sizes. The hole sizing in the piston is what affects "pack" or high shaft speed damping specifically--like you would find in quick transitions or hard braking. Thickening the fluid by itself affects both low and high speed damping together, even though that is not ideal. So it certainly isn't as "adaptive" as people make it out to be, it is a compromised system to give decent handling and a nice ride.
Cars like the Z28, ZL1 1LE and Ford GT don't offer magnetic dampers--only specifically tuned spool valve dampers.
