Going from a 3LT to a 1LT
Hey Guys and ladies!
A few weeks ago I put up on the corvettes facebook page about trading in my 14 3lt NON z51 stingray for a 2019 Grand sport 1LT. With the feedback I received it really did make me second guess if I should even look into purchasing the 1LT. After making my decision, I do not regret it. The 1lt Grandsport is far superior in every way for me, and the overall quality of the car even though the same guts, has just came a long way.
Just did a short video on some of the quick differences between the two if anyone is in the same situation with the loyalty program going on this month. I will admit the only thing I do sometimes catch myself with is the loss of the HUD. Over the last 2 years with my stingray I didn't realize how I have never looked at the dash.
Thanks for your thoughts!

17 stingray 3LT - KBB $42,574
17 stingray 1LT - KBB $41,707
Much higher resale huh? I'm seeing less than a grand difference, lol. The extra money you spend on the 3LT package goes away almost immediately after you buy it.
17 GS 1LT - KBB $53,221 - holding it's value a lot better than your stingray with front cameras and garage door opener...

Hud is the one thing on the higher interior packages that I wouldn't mind having, and since it really seems like mostly a performance item anyway I'm surprised it isn't standard on the GS.
But I don't want it badly enough to pay thousands more to get it.

GOOD for you. Actually, I'd even prefer a "0lt". The 1lt I own still has way toooooo much needless BS for me.

As long as the car meets your needs at a lower option package, that's all that matters and nothing wrong with it. For me I really wanted the HUD and heated/ventilated seats so the 2LT was what I looked for.

Hate the auto dimming mirror, memory seat moves about an inch also useless to me. Love the front camera, Love the hud but don't use it that much. It just looks cool. Homelink a must but not really necessary

I get a chuckle when some say the 1LT is stripped down version when I'm sure some don't even know what the 1LT includes.
1LT Trim/Equipment Package:
A nicely equipped sportscar including 8” touchscreen, Bose AM-FM 9 speaker stereo, 3 month Sirius/XM,MP3, MyLink, OnStar, 4G LTE, 8” HD driver info screen, leather power GT sports seats, power break set/release, power locks/windows, active handling, dual-zone AC, keyless access/start, power tilt/telescopic, leather wrap steering w/flat bottom wheel, cruise control, tire pressure monitor, driver, passenger and side airbags, carbon fiber hood, Bremo 4-piston disc brakes, rear view camera, coup- body color painted carbon fiber roof panels, convertible- power soft-top which can be lowered remotely.

I know we've beaten the 1LT thing to death on here but I also agree with Kevin that the 1LT contains a lot of good stuff already, in fact my 1LT C7 has pretty much everything that my fully loaded 98 Corvette had in it. It's not as if the 1LT doesn't have AC or gives you crank windows. My first brand new car was a 1988 Dodge Shadow ES Turbo and I didn't get a single option on that car and it had crank windows, no AC, no cruise control. I was an 18 year old on a budget, but at the same time I was looking to get the lightest Dodge vehicle that I could that came with that turbo engine. I think that car weighed about 2700 pounds and scooted along quite nicely for that time period (it probably would have run a 15.5 in the quarter mile, so it was capable of keeping up with the Camaros and Firebirds of that era)

I went from a 3LT to a 1LT and don't miss the 3LT. I never looked at the HUD and only missed the dimming rear view mirror, ordered one and replaced it my self. If you keep your car for 3+ years the 3LT options might help you sell the car but the options will not make much difference in the price you get at time of trade in or private sale.

I have the 3LT Z51 and I can say I would prefer a 2LT non-Z51. I hate the E-LSD just as a multi-failure point piece and the MRC Shocks+Controllers being expensive and not durable. I do love the dry sump system and the other changes to Z51 but beyond that I don't really want it. The leather dash, memory seats, suede stuff, and auto-dimming aren't really useful or well done. Only the driver mirror and rear-view are auto dimming which doesn't help me honestly. I tinted my windows (35%) and windshield (80%) so everything is fine without it and your mirrors adjusted.
I also do like the A6 trans much more than the A8 but I really do need the M7...
At least mine was cheap.

Definitely glad that you're in a car you enjoy. I couldn't do it myself as 2LT would be a bare minimum for me. As is, my 3LT interior is amazing, and it makes it feel like the high-end sports car these cars are supposed to be!

Its nice to see the difference in the forum compared to the Facebook pages of bashing. Knowing the difference of one wanting to enjoy their car vs bashing them for what they don't have. Thanks for the responses guys!

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Everyone is different, but try to explain that around here is like....well you know. I have a 1LT and have other cars that had what the 2LT and 3LT have on them and never used those features. But I can understand how others prefer to have those particular features. I have them on my current Ford SUV and never use them. I just happened to have them because they came with the car and I didn't have the option to not have them so I just ignore them. My son has a Z06 3LZ and he likes quite a few of the items that came with that package, but according to him some of them are pretty lame, like the heated ventilated seats, the dimming mirror. But what the hell? Most of them he likes. He's definitely not a chip off the old block.
He took after his mother. She likes all that crap.

KBB and what you get in real life are two different things though. A dealer will make up their own rules, they don't give a hoot about KBB.
