Loving our new-to-us 2014 Convertible, except for an annoying loud buzz coming from the dash somewhere. It only makes the noise at idle, with the top down. Put the top up - it stops. Open a door with the top down - it stops. Increase engine RPM's just a little - it stops. It never happens when driving, until you stop and are at idle. I've pressed on most everything with no luck. This weekend I'm gonna try to track it down, but could use help if anyone has experienced this. When I searched the forum I found lots of potential places to look, but none mentioned this particular weird situation.
Does it buzz every time under the conditions you note?
"Top down, open door" and it stops... does it matter which door? Does it matter if the door windows are up or down? Does it sound like it is coming from a different location if sitting in one seat or the other? Does two people being in the can affect it? Just trying to better understand what's happening.
If you have, or have access to a mechanic's stethoscope I think you would be ahead of the game in locating the noise. Some such are notorious for sounding like different places when just listening, but can be localized by "touch." Just a suggestion.
The one good thing is that you can diagnose with the car stationary. Safer and better chance for ultimate success. Best of luck!

I agree about using a mechanics stethoscope to try and locate the noise. I have used one before and it worked very well to isolate the general location of the noise/rattle.
I also have a new to me 14 Vert and it does not have a rattle, so nothing that maybe someone got used to... It sounds like glass maybe, if it stops with pressure on the glass...

Only does it with the windows down, but I don't know if I tried just one window at a time. Two people in car or one it sounds the same. We both think dash but haven't been able to pinpoint. Stethoscope is a great idea. I'll stop at HF tomorrow and get one. Thanks for the input!
I'm in donkey. If you locate the problem do update us. You never know when another vert owner may need that info. Good luck. Wish I could help, but like you I'm at a loss.

My 2016 coupe just spent 21 days at the dealer trying to track down what sounds like the same buzz. Happened either at idle or under light load like holding the brake and giving it a little gas. They replaced the passenger door panel, tightened the window regulator, checked the door striker bolt, trim fit, etc. Nothing worked. Finally replaced the main (large lower) speaker and it cured the problem. The buzzing happened with the sound system off or on. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. This buzzing occurs with sound system on or off too, so I’d sorta ruled out the speaker. The sound system place I used for my truck said they’ve replaced one on a Vette coupe before, but they also worked on one that wound up needing something inside the door epoxied so they suggested I contact a body shop for that. If the stethoscope doesn’t pinpoint something else, I may have to try replacing that speaker.
