Only 589 miles and already have a tick...
Pulled into the garage today, and heard a echoing tick coming from the bay. Popped it open, and definitely was there. Just got out of the break in period, but definitely didn't have it yesterday, after dinner. Any thoughts on what it could be? Of course I have full warranty with it being 3 weeks old. Just hoping the dealer doesn't take weeks to get it figured out.

Sounds exactly the same as mine did with a collapsed AFM lifter

If that is what it turns out to be, best of luck getting the car repaired. Too bad it happened with such low mileage on the car.

My guess has to do with an idler pully??

Hi,
My Stingray makes the same sound on start up but goes away after about 5 minutes once the engine is warm. I plan to have Chevy look at it at my next oil change.
Does the sound go away once then engine is warm?
Please keep us up-to-date on this?
Thanks,
Jason

Got it to the dealer. Of course the corvette tech is out for the holiday week. So they gave me a loaner and waiting to hear back. From first glance they believe it to be Alternator, belt or pulley system since it ticks constant with the white on the belt. I will keep you guys updated with it!

That's a bummer. Keep us posted. Warranty will make it right.

Given it is an M7 is it driven in AFM mode (ECO) or it locked out of cylinder deactivation?
Trying to determine what caused this on a M7 as a AFM lifter issue is almost always due to the AFM being engaged from what I have read. Has been Most common on the A8 due to the fact that the A8 can not lock it out of AFM mode...

Brandon,
Thanks for letting us know. I was afraid it was an issue with the AFM in a M7 car and that would have been unusual and a concern for me.
Again, thanks for following up and letting us know...
