I recently bought a 2014 Z51. Regarding the operation of the keyless entry, if I am not near my car and use the key fob to unlock the doors, they automatically relock in about 30 seconds if I do not open the door.
So I cannot leave my car unlocked in my driveway or my garage.
I have been thru the manual, and have not found a way to change this.
It's a setting that has been turned on. It can be toggled off. Go into the settings on the center display and look for LOCKS
I've got mine turned on currently
Have mine set to lock when the key FOB is not in proximity. It beeps when it locks. All those are options and I like it that way! When I park at a mall or supermarket, since it's away from other cars, I like folks watching to know it's locked! Yep means I have to have my FOB to open in the Garage- no big deal for me.
I believe the feature is called Passive Lock - I turned it off on my 2014 because it kept locking itself too. It was driving me nuts when cleaning the car in the driveway. Now I just push the button on the remote fob like every other modern car I've owned. The lights flash to confirm its locked as I walk away after parking.
You can get around this function after you turn the car off and while the remote is still in the car. Hold the unlock button on either door in for 3 seconds or so and you will hear 3 dings. After this the passive lock is disabled until the next restart of the car and will not lock. I personally love the feaure to lock automatically. My daily car does the same thing.
I am with speed4tu....love the technology built into these cars...mine is set the same way and the security system is awesome when my convertible is left with the top down...any "would be thief" will get a surprise when they reach past the "radar" built into the security system in their effort to grab something left on the seats or my radar detector next to the mirror. Not to say that whomever they are...may grab and go in an instant...but for the "honest thieves" I am ok...I would rather leave the top down and have a instant theft that have them cut through the top to get in... after all... insurance coverage is in effect too. I have a 2015 Z-51 Vert....hope that this helps some...you have to learn of all the car's capabilities to better program it to your liking...I still learn things about it now and then...and have read the manual from 1st page to last page...its a lot to take in and most definitely the best value in a high performance car on the market in the world...

There are so many things that you can personalize on this car, that it can get confusing on how to set things up the way you want. I'm still learning all the ins and outs of the car.
^^^ for the 3 1/2 years I had my 2014 Z51 I often posted that the only problem I had with the sound system was about 10 to 15% of the >1000 songs I have on a thumb drive playing in shuffle mode when I start the car were too boomy! I use the sound system and the rear subwoofer to drown out all the tire and road noise. When boomy songs came up I either had to lower the volume or set my overall bass low, which defeated my reason for having the sound playing!
I said I wish I could have a **** like the subwoofer and amp I added to my S10 truck that allowed the subwoofer volume to be adjusted with a **** I put on the console. Then when I got my Grand Sport someone said what he did and described in words how to do it! Not easy to do from words, or finding in the manual! BEEN USING FOR ~2 YEARS!
This is a PDF with pics showing each step, including changing the labels on the presets! I did Bass BUT you could do anything, balance etc .http://netwelding.com/Boomy_Bass.pdf
