Default Mobil 1 oil cap available for the wet sump cars

Is there even a Mobil 1 oil cap available at all for the wet sump cars?

5w30 or 0w40

Anyone have a part number for either one?

They do as I put one on my last ride and my new Z51

https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2018...w-40-oil-caps/

The official GM part numbers for the new oil caps are:
  • 12686472 – 2019 Corvette Stingray w/o Z51
  • 12680708 – 2019 Corvette Stingray w/Z51, Grand Sport, Z06, ZR1
less than 5 bucks here

You should be able to get the cap from the dealer as well. My 2019 Stingray came with one. You should also be able to get the sticker from the dealer as well. It was in my owner's packet.

Question: Did the 0W-40 oil start for the 2019 models? My owners manual for my 2016 Stingray Z51 A8 says to use 5W-30 and it also has the oil cap that says 5W-30 as well.

It was either 2018, or 2019.

Wrecker3,

Thank you for posting that!
You are sincerely appreciated!

Called the dealer. Interesting that the dry dump one is $31 and the non-dry sump one is only $8.

The 0W-40 is now recommended for all C7 models: https://mobiloil.com/en/article/why-...ecommended-oil
Or you can keep using the 5W-30. There are tons of threads around here discussing this if you want to go down the oil wormhole.

I've seen it in Wal-Mart for $9.38
I DIY oil change on a Dry Sump version costs about $100

Have you tried your dealer? Mine sold me ESP 0W-40 for $7.95 per quart.

I have not, they are 32 miles away

However, I did find that summit racing has a 6 pack for $37.99 after rebate bringing the quart price down to $6.33
I'll be doing that

Thanks

BostonVette,

Where can the Mobil 1 rebate be found? Do you have a link to it please?

The rebate link is on the summit site at the oil page.
You can either submit it on-line or print a version and snail it in.
Either way you'll need the paid receipt

Here is a link to the page:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mob-123875
Details on the rebate and the link are above "Add to Cart"

5w30 or 0w40

Anyone have a part number for either one?

.
12680708 for my 2017 Z06. Dealer installed mine with the Mobil 1, 0-40 but charged me $36 for the cap. I've seen them for $17+ without shipping so I didn't get hit too badly
