2014 Stingray question
I am considering buying a 2014 Stingray with VERY LOW MILES. It is a 3LT, auto trans, coupe. Were there any problems associated with the 2014's? Anything in particular to watch out for or questions to ask? Realistic highway mileage to expect (driving conservatively)? It has the Z51 pkg. Any input is appreciated.

The 2014 blew the "Don't buy the 1st year model" myth completely apart. They have proven very reliable. The only problem some of the early ones had was the infotainment screen would go black. But, if the one you're looking at had that problem it's surely fixed by now. Good luck on your purchase. I can't say the mpg's on the 2014, but it will give you many smiles to the mile I can assure you.

Melting Slicks
There were a few folks that claimed their 2014's showed overheating messages on the dash - but just make sure you always have the correct amount of coolant.
My 2014 was absolutely bullet-proof. I had no problem getting 28 to 30 MPG on the highway... Mine was a Z51/ 3LT as well - just a fantastic combination...performance and bells and whistles.
Best of luck - make sure you post pictures if you end up getting her...

The 3LT leather dashes suffer from bubbling up issues. Not mine (yet?), but if you dig around here you'll find plenty of complaints.
Not sure about the auto - but I've managed a best of 33 MPG highway with my M7 Z51. I think 28 MPG is more realistic as that is what I averaged over long trips.

I bought a 2014 Last year.... Z51 as well as 3LT package and its been trouble free so far!
I got a Dec 2013 built version and the only complaint I have is that there are no tow receivers
in the front or back of the car. So if you want to screw a tow hook in, you are SOL.
Anyhow I bought a kit for the front and back to resolve the issue so that's no longer a discussion
item on my car LOL.

I got mine on St. Patrick's Day 2014. I had 2 recalls. One for possible defective welds on the shocks and they replaced them all. They weren't defective. Second recall was for a airbag software glitch. They checked mine out and the software was fine. I did have a temperature sensor go nuts. Said lookout for ice and put the car heater on when the outside temp was 89 degrees. I live in Florida. I drove to the dealer and they replaced it in a half an hour. I've taken several long trips and with the car loaded to the hilt on trips that amount to 3500 miles I've averaged 28-29 mpg. I managed on one trip a best of 36.3 MPG but I was driving on 50-55 mph. Usually road trips are in the 70's. It's an A6 and runs great. I've only took it to the strip a couple of times and it ran in the high 11's for my best times so it's more or less been the best Corvette I've owned.

Second time when the seat belt software was fixed per GM notice, just before I sold it to buy my Grand Sport after 3 1/2 years. Hope my Grand Sport is as good! BTW, I did all my own maintenance.

14s are pretty solid Corvettes, other than the 3LT leather dash issues (search, there's MANY threads on this) there shouldn't be much to worry about.

Bought my ‘14 last November and my research turned up the 3LT dash and the infotainment screen. Other than that, they seem to be very reliable.

OP, by far, most 2014s are excellent, reliable Corvettes. However, to be sure that you are getting a reliable car, go to any GM dealer with the VIN of the car you are considering and ask for the VIS report, the report of all the warranty and maintenance records that were performed at any GM dealer on the subject car. With this report, the Carfax and the Autocheck reports, you will pretty much know the history of the car you are considering. If it's been unreliable in the past, the VIS report will tell you that because dealers don't get paid for the warranty work they perform if they don't enter it into the GM system so you know everything is in there. Carfax and Autocheck don't include all that information.
My 2014 has been very reliable. Only one failure, autolink garage door opener failed and was replaced.
When I searched for my used 2014, I found several 2014s that had serious problems. While these were very few, they do exist, you want to get the VIS report to avoid getting one of these cars.

My '14 has had no specific '14 issues. It actually seems to be the best of the MYs, especially if you are driving an automatic.
It had the seatbelt pretensioner recall, the belt tensioner pulley seems only to be good for ~50,000 miles, and I broke a valve spring in cyl. #8 at 80,000 miles; all covered under warranty.
I have 109,000 miles on the car, and I still love it! At this point I would buy it again.

I bought my 3LT Stingray A6 in October last year with 21K miles and it has about 25K now. Absolutely perfect in every way and no problems what so ever. I have upgraded the radio module so I can get Apple Car Play and think that was money well spent. I am an older fart and plan on keeping this one with no plans to upgrade.

I am on my second 14 and they both have been rockstars.. changed out the fan to the upgraded Z06 600 watt fan as it would go to sleep (after 30 miles without stopping the fan would NOT turn on and overheat, you have to shut the car off and on again and the fan will work) on my first one, I will find out next week if my new one needs it also...
I changed all the fluids on both right after I get them and went to the new 0w40 but I drive mine all year and down to -15 degrees in the winter so I need that extra cold start lubrication
I have put 30,000 miles on the coup I just traded in and the Vert I have now is hitting 40,000 miles this next week

I am well satisfied with the upgrade and use it constantly. All I have to do is call up Siri and say the destination and away we go.

I went to https://www.infotainment.com/product...ant=1025047957 . There are two modules to replace. One for the navigation which is above the driver side foot rest. That is not terribly difficult to get to, but not that easy either. Both modules are plug and play so there is no wiring or anything to do. Just unplug the old and plug in the new. The next is the HMI module which is the radio. That is more difficult to get at and you start in the passenger foot well and remove the carpet. There is a large silver plate under the carpet and that comes out. Then you are greeted by another steel wall and that must come loose also. On the back side of the second wall is the module to be replaced. Remember it can be done and I did it. I have heard some shops charge $250 to swap them out and if you don't feel up to the half day of standing on your head, it might be worth it for you. There are you-tube videos and help on the internet.
