Why BG built my C7 today

Why BG built my C7 today
I thought I'd offer some thoughts as to why I decided to order a new C7 rather than wait for a C8.
1. I live in Florida and don't understand not having a convertible.
2. I'm cheap. Even if I'm wrong and there is a convertible this year, I have never paid sticker (or above) for a car and don't plan on ever doing so.
3. I got a deal that borders on the unbelievable. My car has a sticker of 73.5k and I bought it for 62k. That would be good if purchased from the dealers lot but that is unheard of for ordering a car for Corvette museum delivery. I also got lucky since the boys and girls in BG built it today I will qualify for 3k loyalty bonus and 0 percent financing (although I think GM will extend those offers at least through June.). A 73.5 car for 59k and zero financing!!
In short, depending on the miles I put on it, I will be able to drive this car for a couple years with little to no depreciation and then buy a C8, if I even like it. there was one generation Corvette that I wouldn't even want to own. Plus I ordered the car exactly as I wanted down to blacking out the grille and stingray logo.
Your mileage may vary but a C7 was a no brainer for me. I'll be in BG two weeks from today.

Congrats, I did the same, however, keep in mind that the car is worth about $59k the moment you take delivery. You have to remember the end of year deal you get is depressing the the prices of all the used C7s on the market and if the C8 hits the market and it is priced in the mid 60's then once all the markups cool down all C7s will drop another $10k. You can't worry about depreciation, just go out and enjoy the car.

Congrats on getting the car you want. While the C8 will be the newest and most exciting, the C7 will still be a great sports car for years to come. About driving it for 2 years with no depreciation, I think you would need to get the car at 25-30% off in order to get close to that.

Beyond that... the folks who believe that a “reasonable” increase in base price (ie something in the range of closer to a 10-15% increase, from the current $55,900 to say $62~64k) have precedent on their side.
Lastly, a rise from current base to something 30-35% higher puts the car into a completely different buyer bracket. I just can’t get onboard with that market logic, and only could, if GM where to have brought out the ME car as a new platform alongside keeping the traditional FE Corvette, which we all know now isn’t happening.

Right now you can get a brand new C7 Z06 for what the base model C8 is projected to be priced at. By the time the C8 does come out you should be able to get that Z06 for quite a bit less.

I ordered my 2014 C7 a week after the reveal and well before they even went into production. My contract was for less than MSRP. My point is that you don't have to pay MSRP or above when the new model arrives. Sure, the discount is not anywhere near as great as they are now, but I've been enjoying my C7 for nearly 6 years. If I like the C8 when it is revealed, I'll shop around and find a dealer with allocations that is offering a discount and place my order. I'll do NCM delivery again, as I did with my C7.
