Default Dashcam users! Any pics?

I'm having the Blackvue camera installed next week. I'd appreciate any pics of where you have your camera mounted in the front, especially if your car is PDR equipped. Bonus point for a radar detector in a Blendmount

TIA

For the DIY person, thedashcamstore.com has 10 percent off today on many products. I just purchased the BlackVue DR750S-1CH for 242.99, free shipping and zero sales tax. That is 27.00 less than Amazon.

Cheers

P.S. I am not a representative of thedashcamstore. Just passing on the savings.

Just curious... why use a dash cam if you already have PDR?

Installed myself. Also have the rear camera as well. All fits great even with my PDR.

PDR is great. However the dash cam is great for parking mode as well if something were to happen behind you while driving. Like someone on their cell phone rear ending you. It would be seen 👍🏻

I just recently installed a BlackVue DR750S-2CH in my 2017 Stingray. I selected the BlackVue mostly because of its low profile not because it was the best in the market. I owned other dashcams and the BlackVue is superior. So far it is the best that I have owned. My Stingray is not equipped with a PDR, so I was able to snake the wires to the front cam through the PDR hole in the cover that is in front of the rearview mirror. The biggest pain was the rear facing cam. Snaking the wire through the rubber conduit that exist between the rear hatch and the car body was almost impossible, but I did it.

I purchased the BlendMount bracket for the front cam. I live in Florida and know that the sticky adhesive pad to stick on the front windshield just not gonna cut it. It will succumb to the Florida heat and fall from the windshield. People in Texas have the same problem.

Recognition goes to saleen556 who have me some most valuable tips while I was doing my homework before installation.

Observe the BlendMount bracket

Here’s a few more of mine. Hardest part is getting the rear camera cable through the rubber conduit into the headliner.

Default Power Source

To obtain power for my dashcam, I ran a two conductor wire from the rear fuse box to the front of the Vette. I installed a fuse tap onto circuit 22 and another on circuit 37. I installed the BlackVue DR750S-2CH along with the Power MagicPro. Because I am using the Power MagicPro, I needed two power sources, a permanent power source and accessory power.

Some of the interior trim in the rear needed to be removed to run wire for the rear facing cam. So, it took just little extra work to run the electrical wire to the rear fuse box.

Regards

A few reasons, for me at least:

You have to explicitly turn the PDR on each time you start the car.

The PDR can only record for just over an hour, due to file size limitations. It doesn't tell you it has stopped recording.

The PDR can't record if the car is turned off (parking mode for a dashcam).

And thanks to everyone that posted an image.

I agree the PDR is a hassle to use as a dash cam. I have resorted to just turning it on when I think I might need video.

But it seriously considering the BlackVue as it gets very good reviews.
