Default Clicking noise from rear passenger wheel...need help!

I have a clicking type noise from the passenger side that seems like its coming from the rear passenger wheel area. First thought it has a rock stuck in my tire tread but it wasn't consistent with each tire rotation. I am dumb founded at what it could be. With windows shut and radio on you can't hear it but with windows down it is much loader. so definitely coming from outside the car. Doesn't happen all the time which is confusing. Mostly on INITIAL acceleration or gear change but at different speeds and not ALL the time. I have a '19 GS A8. Any thoughts?? THANK YOU!

I had the same thing on my C6 turned out to be loose axle nut in rear wheel. Dealer told me it is common in Corvette. They added Lok tight to the stud and replaced nut. All fixed. Check that out first before you llet anyone start tearing into the car.

Loose axle nuts are a common problem? Sheesh! That certainly doesn't sound very nice.

Not sure loose is the question but they do need proper torquing.

I've had loose rear axle-nuts on my C5 retightened twice in 18 years, last time about 2 years ago. Someplace to start.

Same issue with my C6, lubricating the axle and torquing the axle nut fixed it.

A wild card, but have you checked your wheels for any cracks or bending? Don’t know if it would cause a clicking sound, but GS and Z06 wheels have had issues...

Default Video of rear passenger wheel well 'Clicking'...

Had a few minutes to shoot a video of the 'clicking' noise present at the rear passenger wheel well. My neighbor has the same exact car, '19 GS A8 and his car doesn't have the clicking so its not characteristic of the car. Anyway hope the video plays (i stink at this stuff). Any thoughts on the noise? You can hear it better the second time i put the car in reverse.

I had the same problem. Mine was evident when loading the gear train going from forward to reverse and reverse to forward. Loose axle nuts was the problem per Chevy, replaced and torqued fixed the issue.

I’m having the same problem with my 15 Z51. Left rear was retorqued at last oil change, and the noise is back. Maybe 500-600 miles later. I need the nut replaced but can’t find the part number.

By axle nut, are you referring to lug nuts? If not where is the axle nut?

The axle nut is dead center of the wheel. it is a large nut that is known to get lose and cause clicking noise. The fix is to add lock tight to nut and tighten. simple as that

From what I’ve read, it’s 36mm. I have a new one on order. They’re one time use. I’ll probably Loc-tite mine on.

All I know is that I had the dealer look at mine, when I took it in for an oil change. They found the axle nut loose and retorqued it. They also stated that if the issue continues, to replace the axle nut.
