End of last season AC would operate intermittently. Had it checked in October when it went in for inspection. Tech heard of the issue before but had no answers. Everything checked out ok, still no AC. From the beginning of this season no AC at all.
The service department hasn't been able to shed any lite on the issue. Any body else have this kind of issue?? Seams like the computer isn't pulling in the compressor?
There is both a fuse and relay in the under hood fuse box that control the A/C clutch. Of course, low refrigerant pressure will short cycle the compressor or prevent clutch from engaging.
I had a stuck relay on another older car. I just swapped it for an identical relay - clutch engaged, then swapped relays back and all continued to work.
. If your fuses aren't blown I would recommend unplugging an plugging the motor back in. For whatever reason this worked for me. I actually pulled the entire assemble out removed the cover on the blower motor and tested the capacitors on the board they all had some voltage in them and nothing looked burnt. I then checked for voltage at the wire and sure enough it was there. plugged it back in and it started working. No idea why this would work but it did so before wrestling with those 5.5mm bolts I would try removing plug and plugging back in.
I didn't copy all of his post.
Blower motor is located under the passenger side dash there are 3 plastic screw fasteners holding the cover on.
The OP says no A/C or intermittent A/C but does not say no heat or air flow. He questions compressor operation - so likely not a blower issue, but a lack of cold air. Most likely a compressor, fuse, relay, diverter door or controls issue. There was one recent case where the owner just had to cycle through various modes and the diverter door apparently started working.
Removing the electrical plug at the fan blower motor and reconnecting the electrical connector my fan started working and I have not had an issue with it since. The fan blower motor has a built in resistor at the connector that may have been shorted and is replaceable, it's tight quarters but doable and a diy project.
This really isn't for a dealer anyway, especially if out-of-warranty.
A shop specializing in AC is, hopefully local area has one.
If so take it there, they'd have it diagnosed quickly & repair whatever for <$ than any dealer.
Which assumes dealer's are capable of even ID'g issue.
Low probability, but check the electrical connector on the compressor itself. My 2015 had intermittent a/c shortly after delivery that eventually quit altogether. Dealer found that connector not fully seated, probably an assembly line error.
My car is in the dealership right now to have the A/C compressor replaced and I thought it was just a faulty pressure relief valve as I had good cooling. Only 2K miles. See my other recent post.
Anything to do with A/C, I recommend the dealership. If it requires a major component replacement, e.g. the compressor, they have to drop the front engine cradle which is 8 hours of labor. I wouldn't want an independent A/C shop doing that as someone else suggested. Plus components are not typically stocked and have to be shipped which takes three days as GM did not pay the extra Fedex shipping cost to over-night my compressor.

Hi,
I have been scouring YouTube and this forum trying to find an answer to a similar issue. over the summer, I left the top off my car and it had some rain get inside. As soon as I realized it was raining, of course wiped it all up, but then I started having issues. The entire infotainment center was not lighting up and I was unable to use any music Bluetooth cigarette later heating, etc. I’ve searched the Internet. I’ve disconnected reconnected the battery, checked the fuses and pulled most of them and put them back in in the trunk and in the hood I got Music Bluetooth and the cigarette plug thing to start working again after popping off some of the dash trim near the driver side foot well or under the seat wiring harness is somehow how I got music Bluetooth, charging adapter etc.working again.
I still have no heat or AC. The display buttons are not illuminated. And when I attempt to push the various HVAC control buttons (not dials), it will change the song that I have playing. Any suggestions or ideas? I hope I gave enough information. Thank you for your help!!

Hope this helps
Thanks to this old thread, I fixed my air conditioner on my lunch break 😋
Plug for the blower motor. I got to it and was trying to figure out how to unplug it. Before I got it out, I started the car to see if wiggling it had done any good. Blowing strong. I pushed on the plug to make sure it was in there good and put the cover back on.
