Default Curious/question about Convertible trunk function

SO I just traded in my 2014 base Z51 2LT convertible for a 2016 Z06 3LT convertible. Obviously there have been upgrades to the car in equipment and this 2016 is a 3LT which is the highest trim, but this 2016 I noticed has a power latch pull down on the trunk lid, similar to what my old 2005 Corvette coupe had on the hatchback. My 2014 convertible 2LT convertible did not have this feature.

Just curious, is the truck lid power latching feature on the convertible part of a package ? or.... is it on every convertible but possibly my 2014 unit was just not working/broken ?

The convertible self-latching feature was added in 2016 as a standard feature even on base cars. Like you, my 2014 convertible did not have it, but my 2018 does. I didn't consider it a big deal at the time, but it is a nice-to-have feature.
