Hi everyone, first time poster as I’m looking to finalize a 2017 Z06 2LZ M7. Two questions I have that don’t seem too easy to answer for a guy new to C7’s.
First question, car has transparent roof but sticker and the dealers own “details” show body painted carbon fiber roof as well as transparent roof. However dealer says it didn’t come with it. Which to me sounds strange as to why it’s on sticker and they have it listed on their own website details breakdown. I live in AZ and not sure how I feel about only the transparent roof. Concerned about noise as well as glare and heat. I know there is a shade to install but still not thrilled that they have mislead me a bit with this detail.
Nezt, front splitter looks flat gray but side ground effects are carbon flash painted as are the side mirrors. Is this normal?
thanks for your help guys! Excited to be leaving the GT350 behind and join the Z06 and C7 family.
If it has RPO code C2Q then it should have both the transparent roof and the body color roof.
C2QBody-Color Dual Roof Package, includes (CFA) body-color roof panel with body-color surround and (CC3) transparent roof panel
On the front splitter question, does it have RPO code CFZ?
CFZCarbon-Flash Painted Ground Effects Package, includes Carbon Flash-painted splitter and rockers, and more aggressive rear spoiler
If it does, then the front splitter should be carbon flash painted. If it has this RPO code, then the original front splitter was probably damaged and replaced with the cheaper one. If it does not have the RPO code, then the prior owner installed the ground effects.
Previous owner probably sold the roof to another Vette owner prior to trade-on.
here in western WA State when I bought a new C6 which came with both roofs I got another 700 bucks off and they kept the solid roof panel and also, what another person mentioned, the original chin spoiler may have been damaged and replaced with the 1LT version (which is what I bought new for my convertible)

Sounds like the previous owner sold the second top and may have damaged the front splitter and replaced it with an aftermarket splitter. The front splitters on the 17 included the poverty splitter, the stage 2/3 splitter with small end caps for stage 2 and large end caps with stage 3. The stage 2/3 splitter was available in carbon flash (RPO CFZ) or exposed carbon fiber (maybe RPO CFJ).
The carbon flash mirrors were an option.
Since the car isn't configured as originally built you should have some negotiation room. First thing would be to take a look at the RPO sticker under the rear carpet near the back wall of the cargo space. Peel the carpet up from the rear right side of the cargo compartment where the battery is located. Just make sure you don't rip the carpet where it goes under the inside quarter panel trim piece when you lift the carpet. It is easy to rip at that spot.
Then take a picture of the RPO sticker and see what else may be missing from the car like maybe the battery protection package. The front stage 2 front splitter is a $2K part from GM and is a great place to start negotiating price or having the dealer provide the correct part. The solid top is worth at least $700 and if the car's RPO codes indicate it came with the two top option I would want both tops. Who ever you decide to sell the car to in a couple of years may be a stickler about having the car configured as delivered. Either the price comes down or they get a solid top for it. They may have already knocked down what they paid for the car because of the things you noticed and were hoping a used car Customer might not notice the issues.

I agree that the previous owner, if used, sold the other top, and if the front splitter is matte black, then it’s probably a stage 1 and side skits were later installed.
As mentioned, the RPO codes will tell you how the car was equipped, however, any mods, changes, etc., by the previous owner are merely speculations.
I am a little lost on the comments here - the base Z06 has carbon flash side skirts in 3/4 length and it also has the "poverty" splitter, which is matt black (cheap) plastic, so without looking at the build sheet, why does anyone believe that is not what the car came with?
As for the missing painted roof - the owner may have sold it OR he joined the flying roof club. It is a used car, so not having two roofs doesn't normally get you an extra discount since most C7's only have one roof.

Hey, In Arizona as well. I have both the transparent and solid color matched roof for my C7. I too, thought that I'd get limited use of my transparent top -- figured it would be for the winters here only. Funny thing is, after almost having the car for 1/5 years, the transparent roof hasn't come off the car. I like the openness of it over the solid top. I don't park it out in the sun for lang periods of time. It's garaged and used for spirited drives, out to dinner and the occasion regional trip.
I'd suggest that you try it for a while and if you want the solid roof, you can certainly find one for it.

I wasn’t 100% certain that the 3/4” skirts were started on the ‘17s as a standard feature. I know that weren’t included on the stage 1 for the ‘15 & ‘16s, but perhaps someone add full-length skirt, however, doubtful.
This is a reason why there is always a lot of speculation when minimum information is provided. Pic, or a link to the car would certainly be helpful.
Hi guys, sorry I completely bailed from this thread after posting. Amazing how crazy having a 3 year old and 7 week old can be when it comes to have just a few minutes to hang out on forums. Regardless, I apologize for not responding sooner.
I did atleast read everyone’s comments and I really appreciate the help. RPO codes were checked and it does appear they were not lying. No dual roof package and no CFZ RPO. They offered me a good price on my GT350 and as of yesterday I have the 17 Z in the garage. After the first day I can’t believe how much I enjoy driving her compared to the GT350. She just feels violently refined if that makes sense.
Thanks again for the help everyone. I’ll look forward to engaging with you all more as a new joiner to the Corvette family.
