I believe it has the Z06 suspension not the Z51 one

The Grand Sport has the the suspension setup between a Z51 and a Z06 I believe. It does not have Z06 suspension. I've owned a Grand sport and now a Z06. Z06 is stiffer, I do not have Z07.
Assuming the Z51 is equipped with magride, you won't really notice a difference between it and a Grand Sport suspension wise

Pretty much every version of the Corvette has its own variation of the basic Corvette suspension.
The Grand Sport and the ZO6 are closely related but not identical. Selecting the ZO7 option in either car results in yet more unique suspension tweaks. The Z51 shares a power train with the Grand Sport but there are significant difference in tires and wheels that necessitate different suspension tweaks. Magnetic shocks are standard on the GS but optional on the Z51, still more changes.
World class handling has become a hallmark of the C7. This hard won acclaim is, in no small part, due to extensive track testing and fine tuning of the suspension settings on each individual Corvette option package.

Oh my God. So many incorrect responses. Don't respond if you have no idea what you're talking about!
Base Grand sport and base Z06 share all suspension, brake, wheel, tire and aero components.
Z07 grand sport has the same suspension as z07 Z06 except front spring remain as the base GS. The front sway bar is thicker instead. Bushings change too. Z07 grand sport does not get z07 Z06 stage 3 aero. Only stage 2.
Base magride or Z51 mag ride has the same shocks as base GS and base Z06. The springs are much softer though.

The Corvette suspension codes can be somewhat generic.
On the C6, I'm told that the GS build sheet showed the car as having "Z51", but at least some of the suspension components were distinctly different from the narrow body Z51.
That might be true for the C7 also, but we'd need a complete list of spring ratings, sway bar sizes, shock specs, etc; to be sure one way or the other.
