Lots of people are talking about buying aftermarket forged wheels, but how do we know they will be any stronger? And if they are stronger, enough stronger to make a difference?
The extra strength of forging may simply be used to make a lighter wheel that's only equal to factory strength. Or less-than-perfect design that produces stronger spokes but understrength rims.
I'd like better information before dropping three grand on aftermarket wheels.
I have a new carbon 65 GS with 494 miles and 4 Bent wheels gm said not cowered under warranty so my dealer ordered 4 new wheels on May 29th 8 weeks ago still only have 3 wheels Gm has in stock at there warehouse but has not shipped the 4th wheel . they don't care about there customers once they get there money

Spend the money on a quality set of forged wheels..replacing those bent wheels with OEM's is a wasted effort and $$...you are only delaying the inevitable...and you will face again the same scenario and expense. I bought a nice set of Forgelines...now have piece of mind that that this will not happen to me again. I had my 2019 GS tied up for more than 3 weeks...fortunately I had wheel ins. and they paid for 4 OEM's...and took them off as soon as my Forgelines were delivered. Those OEM's are sitting in boxes waiting to be put back on ..when I trade or sell my GS.

I have a 2015 c7 with z51 wheels. I recently changed my rear tires out with some michelin AS3+. The tires have been great so I decided to get some for the front also since I had a bubble in the front driverside sidewall. I brought it to a local chevy dealer who also put on the rear tires a few weeks prior. I just received a call from them and they said all of my wheels are bent and suggested I come into look at a wheel catalog. Seemed a little impossible to me that all of the rims were bent. Ive never noticed any shaking while driving so I'm finding it hard to believe that they are all bent. Has anyone else experienced this?
Obviously dont want to spend $3k on another wet of wheel.
Thanks,
Kyle
You are in NJ, of course you are going to have bent, wheels, our roads suck.
That being said, I would check into a local wheel repair place, they may be able to straighten them.
I know I do not have a GS or Z06 but I am so Happy I kept my 18/19 base wheels for my first C7 and now moved both sets to my Z51
So the base wheels fit on the Z51 with no issues / spacers needed ? I read like 4-5 threads here on this , and the first answer it always "no they don't fit" with a bunch of vague followups saying they do.

They fit with no issues... They front tires are really close and if you need any wheel weights you have to move them to the very outside edge or the breaks will rip them off... That should tell you how much room there is, about an 1/8th inch
I have about 4000 miles on 2 different sets of 18/19 inch stock rims on my new Z51 Vert, I had the dealer change the rims out and put the 19/20 rims on my base Coupe when I traded
