Default Front plate mounting

Never noticed where the front plate mounts on a C7. Is it centered on the car or off to one side ?

Haven’t had a problem in King county since I bought my 2006 C6 in 2006 and no problem with my 2016 C7 since Oct 2015. Guess I’ll stay away from Your area. Go AF.

If you do run a front plate, get the Aero Plate holder - fits in the grille, does not touch the paint, and conforms to the curvature of the grille. It actually looks pretty good on the car.

I don't want to be stopped by money hungry law enforcement.
No front plate, cost my daughter $200.

^^^This. This is what I run. Its the best option for those of us that do run front plates. I don’t want to give an LEO a reason to pull me over. Its just a license plate.

I got pulled over for "no front plate" when in fact I DID have the front plate installed.

He just assumed a Corvette wouldn't have one...

I suspect it depends on the LEO, the state and the circumstances of the stop. ******* drivers will drive away from the stop with some form of ticket/tickets.

FWIW, some states treat it as an equipment issue. Show the Court you had it corrected and the citation is dismissed.....

Not that I'm advocating it, but I've run no plates on all of my Vettes (and other cars) since at least 1997 and have never been ticketed. I've even been pulled over on a few other "violations" and never had the front plate issue come up.

Better cooling airflow with this one than with the aero mount, I suspect.

Does the Aero plate holder mar or scratch the grille? We currently live in Minnesota where a front plate is required. In less than a year, we are moving to Arizona where no front plate is needed. In other words, will my grille have telltale marks after I remove the Aero plate?

Yes, it will completely destroy your plastic grill............just kidding. Do you actually have the plate? It should come with a new delivery if a front license plate is required by your state.. It just snaps into place and is designed to be remove for the track. I am sure a video is available on YouTube to show how to mount. Had mine on and off several time.

Nope, won't leave a mark at all, unlike the factory "normal" mount. DO NOT USE THE FACTORY PLATE MOUNT FOR ANY REASON UNLESS YOU LIKE SCUFFING THE CRAP OUTA YOUR PAINT
