Custom axle back

Custom axle back
Has anyone had a custom axle back made up? Call me crazy but seems 2 pipes and some mufflers is something a decent exhaust shop can do. Mainly looking for tips and advice.

I'm sure it can be done. However, the quality of the system would give me concern. My advise is, IMHO you would be better off buying from a quality axle back exhaust from manufacturer's like Borla, Corsa, etc. These manufacturers have already put the time in so the pipes will have the correct bends from the shop, and you won't have to worry about the pipes (not bent correctly) bumping against any parts of the car. All of your sound will come from the mufflers, so give your baby the best.

I understand the worries about quality. I feel like its hard to mess up 2 pipe and some mufflers. Catback I can imagine. However I feel a good exhaust shop could handle it.

It’s a lot more than 2 pipes and some mufflers. There is a significant effort involved in properly engineering an exhaust that flows well, resonates sound properly, and muffles them in an exact way that does not cause drone and also does not cause odd sound. Companies like Borla spend a lot of time and money perfecting their solutions and it shows.
Throw in AFM valves and NPP if equipped and you’ve got some work ahead of you. Is your car NPP and does it have AFM?

My car does have the active exhaust and such however I never use it. Always in track mode. So losing that wont break my heart. I just feel the cost doesn't justify what you get. Simply Corvette tax. Maybe I'm wrong

You’re not wrong, but not right either haha
AFM valves are also in there and you’d have to manage those. Many disable NPP so that’s no sweat but the AFM situation would be harder (AFM is defeatable but there is work there).
I hear you about the Corvette tax, but a properly designed exhaust with higher quality stainless is not cheap. I’d do a used Borla or Corsa before going to a shop to fab one.
If you do try to fab one, please post the results here!
