Delete codes

I borrowed an Actron Scanner to delete some codes the car threw and it won't. Any suggestions as to why it won't clear them. The car is a 14 1lt a6. Thanks in advance!

Probably a hard code. Was it emissions? There are hard and soft codes. You cannot erase the hard codes until problem is fixed.

On my 15 Z you have to get the car into "real accessory mode" to scan and delete. To do this you hold the start button down (clutch out) for 5 seconds.

Thanks for the info . I'll try to hold start for 5 sec and see what happens. If that doesn't work I'll just have to take it in then��
