In the 2 years that I owned my Velocity Yellow C6 convertible, I might have gotten a thumbs up, a wave or even a "nice car" when I was out and about. I don't know why but with my C7 Velocity Yellow convertible I have had the following .....After parking in front of harbor freight and while walking into the store, a woman WITH HER HUSBAND said "sir, we have valet parking here. If you will give me your key I'll be happy to park it for you". Another one was while in the grocery store wearing my Corvette hat, a woman comes up and asks me "Is that your yellow corvette in the lot?" When I said yes she said "it's gorgeous". Then there was when I was idling while my female passenger was putting stuff in the trunk, the woman behind me asked HER to ask ME if I'd take her for a ride. But the absolute best was yesterday. Parked at grocery store and when exiting the car, a husband, wife and two young boys were just passing behind the car when one boy said "look mommy, a corvette". When I asked him if he liked corvettes and he said yes I told him "watch this" and lowered the top with the remote. The expression on his face was priceless. I told him stay in school and you'll have one one day...
I’m also amazed at the attention I get in my new Z06. I especially like it when little kids take an interest, so I keep a few new Corvette Hot Wheels in the hatch cubby to give away. After asking their parents first. I did this a few weeks ago when filling up at a local Chevron and the little guy was so excited.

Of all the sports cars I've owned the C7 definitely gets a lot of
attention. I tell everyone who is interested in one that if you
don't like a lot of attention DO NOT BUY. I get a lot
of the stop short drivers at red lights who hang back
to get a good look. Lot of local sport bikers rev at me
as they go by. And of course the huge number of
rubber neckers. Love this car. Just cant seem to stay off the
throttle though, any help with that?

Aside from amputation of your feet no..............no help here....
I noticed a huge uptick in another kind of attention....seems like it attracts every idiot in my area that owns a Mustang, Challenger or loud truck that think it's their job to try to race every vette they see. I have had more of these idiots trying to race me in 3 months then the last 10 years combined of driving newer Camaros.
My velocity yellow C6 got a lot of attention but not as much as my Corvette Racing Yellow C7 Z06. I've let quite a few younger kids sit in the car (and adults as well) - all potential future Corvette owners!
I used to get continual unsolicited comments on my dark grey 2013 GS C6 with the extra wide wheels on the back - but these days I get very little attention to my 2016 Black/Black Stingray/2LT. If I do get comments its from someone of my own age who yearns to own one.... but are trapped by family commitment.
Guess I should have bought the bright yellow one.......
Oh well - most important is that I love and enjoy my car and driving it every day..
And I get a kick out to leaving "idiots" behind on the highway...
Ditto here. Although when I had my Shark Gray 16 Coupe, I didn’t get as much attention, waves, thumbs up, etc... as I do now in my 19 Admiral Blue GS with the Heritage striping. Something about that wide body and color/stripe combination that puts a smile on people’s faces.
The down side.... I have never before had as many pickup trucks, station wagons and Johnny Racers want to run light to light with me. I just smile, wave and pull away normally, much to their disappointment.

When I lived in Portland Oregon I couldn't get out of the gas station without at least one nice comment or question. But since I have lived down here in Lake Havasu the last two plus years I haven't had one comment, etc. Fine with me though.
I think it is that there are so many Corvettes per capita that they have become ubiquitous down here. I know when I take a trip downtown, which is about 5 miles, I usually see at least one Corvette. I could drive for days in Portland and never see a one.
Just got back from Albuquerque recently. A 1,100 mile round trip. I only saw one Corvette in all that time and miles. A red C7. No comments, or thumbs up either.

I'm a bit surprised that here in Dallas I rarely get any type of attention that I notice.
It may be due to the fact that I live several miles from the parts of town that has a lot of old and new money. So exotics, Bentleys, high-end Porsche, and Mercedes are somewhat common.
