Default Sequence number question

Does each model (ZR1, Z06, Grand Sport, and Stingray) start with their own set of sequence numbers (each starting with #001)
OR
Do they all share a single list of numbers?

Stingray and Grand Sport (excluding the special editions) share the sequence numbers. Z06 and ZR1 have their own sequence numbers starting with 00001. The 12th digit of the VIN is different for Z06 and ZR1 and for Special Editions.

Yes, I know each model has a unique 12th digit.
So if a ZR1 has sequence number "777" for example, then there will be no Z06 with sequence number "777".
Correct?

Incorrect. There will potentially be multiple cars with with similar sequence numbers. IE a Z06 with 600777 and a ZR1 with 800777. As well as a base/Z51 with 100777.

This is also why you can't say "my car was number 300 off the line". They could build 299 base/Z51 cars, do a batch of 50 Grand Sports with sequence 3000xx and then pick back up on the base cars with 100300+ . So now your 'number 300" is really 350.

They sometimes build VINs out of order too. So that throws another wrinkle into it.
