Default Aftermarket exhaust for basic C7

Thinking of swapping stock exhaust for magnaflow or borla. Concerned about codes showing up with issues. Also how will it affect driving modes for opening up exhaust. This is a 2015 basic C7 so I'm not sure if this is even an issue.

Default No problems for me

2014 Z51 7MT 1LT torch red conv; added a Cora Sport exhaust installed by my Chevy dealership. Was under warranty at the time. No concerns, no warranty
questions, no codes. Just a nicer slightly throaty exhaust with a few pops on downshifts for added flavor. Now, did it add HP? My mechanic said, maybe 5 - 10
at higher revs but nothing felt when driving. I really enjoy it, it is not one of the louder (Corsa makes the Extreme for that) and similar exhausts from Borla, Magnaflow and
others have raised no concerns. I believe you are good to go.

Hi Bfon, we'd be happy to help you find the correct system that meets your needs. We offer a few different options for the C7 that maintain the active exhaust/AFM functionality. What type of sound and volume were you looking for?

I have only heard one exhaust, x-pipe and valve back, which has made mew consider changing from stock NPP.. The recently released AWE.

Edit to clarify: Only heard in video.

Nothing over the top, sound wise. More deeper/throaty volume. Adding more horsepower not a big deal. Sound is key. Have to maintain operation of driving mode options for exhaust.

Recommend going with a Borla system. I went with the Borla S-Type Axle Backs with Ceramic Black tips on my 2019 Stingray. You can get bright tips is you prefer. Works perfectly with NPP exhaust system. No codes. Awesome look and sound. No impact of factory warranty (except for the exhaust and the Borla warranty is 1M miles) and I have that in writing from my dealer's service director. In fact, it was the dealer that ordered and installed the system for me. Could not be happier.

I'm also looking to replace my stock exhaust on my Z06. I have the Borla X-Pipe but I'm just not happy with the exhaust note. With all of the available options how do you make a good decision on this? Also I live in California. Will an aftermarket exhaust meet the emission requirements in this state? I know the X-Pipe wont but this is much easier to remove.

You won't get a code for installing an exhaust. If you have a base c7 then you just need to get an exhaust that has a slot for the AFM valves.

Shoot us a text or email and we can make sure you get the right exhaust for your car!

I am really torn on this x pipe cat delete question. One part of me says don’t remove the x pipe cats because we need cleaner air. And another part of me says, why did GM launch a part to clean the air that is outside the computer loop? Also I ask myself if the back cats ever clogged would I replace with a stock x pipe with cats or would I go with an after market cat less x pipe for half the price?

In the end I will probably go with whats legal, as opposed to whats right, and that kinda sucks too.
