Others have reported tearing particularly the center air dam in the C7. I scraped my center air dam and occasionally my side air dams in my C6 about every time I left my driveway. All I did in 6 years I had it was about once a year sand off the bottom. Appears to me GM may have changed the material.

My 2014 Z51 nor my Grand Sport (with Stage 2 Aero) don't have a center air dam. I don't scrape the side air dams when leaving that same driveway. I see a little scraped area on my side air dams in 2 years with the Grand Sport but they have not cracked or tears.

Mine scrapes a bit each time I leave the driveway and have not noticed any tearing along the top seam of the air dam. The C7 seems to sit higher than my C5 did so not as many instances of the scraping.

The lower part of the dam is rubber and the top part that bolts in is plastic. The seam is where both parts meet.
After tearing about 6 inches along the end seam, I bought some right angle plastic and pop riveted the tear together. Painted the rivet heads black and it isn't visible.
It's a lot stronger than the factory seam. It's held up to 150+ mph runs as well as my mom's driveway now which was tearing the dam originally. I got tired of replacing it.

Mine tore also. Removed all of them and never had an issue for the next 30,000 miles.

To bad my old C5 coupe had the spring loaded dam that would role back and forth if scrubbed. Never broke, I have one small tear about 4 in. long and put a piece of black gorilla tape on back side, so far so good. Stuff (tape) is pretty tough.
