Rear view mirror attachment?
So... I need to replace the windshield on my 2019 GS (would only do it through SafeLite, whom I have a track record with on 3 other 'vettes) and they're saying that on "some" coupes, the rearview mirror might rattle because of how it's mounted on the windshield. Not a guarantee that it will be a problem but it "might be". Of course my first question in response was "Great, and what's the fix if it happens?" Couldn't answer my question. Now I'm concerned....
I don't get it as it seems to me the mirror assembly (with PDR) is mounted to the frame. Anyone know WTF they're talking about? This is the first I've ever heard of this...

I don't even think the mirror is attached to the windshield. It doesn't look like it is at least on my car... it sits way back from the glass, like on the frame.

I've had 3 generations of Corvettes' windshields replaced by SafeLite and never an issue with me either (until this comment from them)

I agree. I was really surprised to hear that claim and I suspect it comes from someone......new?

I've had Safelite replace 2 windshields on other cars. In both cases the rear view rattled like crazy. Had them out to fix. But one of them was never the same. It's the person doing the replacement thats the culprit. Make sure to check before he leaves. Also, insist on OEM glass, not their brand!

Abso-fricken-lutely I insist on OEM glass (always have)
Had mine replaced by Safelite about a month ago with no issue. Not sure I’d worry about it. If there’s an issue it can be fixed. It just twists on and off.
