2016 Z06 A/C Compressor
Recently purchased a 2016 z06 , but it needs a ac compressor, the car has been at the dealership for 4 weeks, they are telling me its a hard to find unit , a nation wide search they can't locate one and will have to get GM to build one . My question is have anyone ever heard of this or they just feeding me BS Thanks in advance

So I went in today. The noise I was hearing was actually the way the front tires were seated not the ac rattling. They are going to take off the tires and clean the bushings behind it. I was hearing it clicking when the tires were turned. I guess it’s common with the Corvettes, Camaro’s, and Tahoe’s. Sorry I don’t have answers for you.

The ac compressor is readily available. Perhaps the dealer needs a replacement condenser?

Checked with a guy working at another GM dealership, he checked by the VIN ,he said the its is a hard to find unit why ? He doesn't know, he said other dealerships do have them but are not required to sell them . He said the only thing i can do is call GM and complain to try and speed up the process. This is just crazy !!

That compressor has been on/off back order several times in the last few months. It did take us a couple weeks to receive the last one I needed for a customer. Your best course of action is to have the dealer upgrade the order with a VIN and try to see if one of the dealers showing stock will sell it.
