Default Ceramic Coating

The
previous owner of my Z06 had it ceramic coated. He told me it was either a 2 or 3 year coating. My question is can I or should I use a detailer or a product like TopCoat X11 on it between washing. It’s been about a year since it was coated.

I recommend using SiO2 infused products on your ceramic coating. I use Adam's Ceramic Boost between every third or fourth wash. That's all I've done for the last 2 1/2 years and I still have an award winning finish. Adam's has a lot of "how to" videos that are helpful as well. Congrats on the new Corvette!

Esoteric coated mine with Kamikaze Ceramic Coating. Awesome product! I've coated two Corvettes in the last month with Adam's Ceramic Coating and it's a really good product that is relatively user friendly for the non-professional detailer to apply.

Coatings go together with systems from the same manufacture but most all of them contain SIO2 so most of those should work just fine.. See if you can find out what was used and see what's recommended for maintenance.. If not pick a system and go with it

You would want to use an SiO2 spray as a sacrificial layer over the ceramic. I use Kamikaze OverCoat every few washes. It only takes a very small amount, one spritz on a towel as youre drying a panel.

I have my car coated and have used several different boosters. I found the Blackfier Coating Booster to be really good and the smell to be off the charts. Even my wife comments favorably how well the garage smells after I use it. Auto Geek or Autopia are good places to get it and they are always having discount/shipping specials so the cost is reasonable.
