When I park my '19 1LT in the garage and leave it unlocked, after about 20 minutes or so the car locks by itself. I have read the manual extensively and have defeated all auto lock/passive locking functionality. I hang my key fob in the garage and it is pretty close to the car. Also, when I subsequently try to unlock the car from the outside, I need to hit the rubber door pad sensor two times to open the door. The first time I hit the button the door unlocks but will not allow the door to open. The second time I hit the button, the door will open. All I can think of is that the proximity of my fob to the car is causing this scenario.
If I'm not actually pulling out on the door when I squeeze the sensor pad in the door, the door will open about 1/2" and I need to squeeze a second time.
Trying starting a firm pull on the door before you hit the pad, and keep pulling until the door actually opens.
The procedure for setting or eliminating passive locking is confusing, and divided between two different sections of the menu on our 2017. It took me a while to figure it out, perhaps you've missed something.
Not likely on a 2019, but if the main car battery is dying, all sorts of weird electrical gremlins can appear.
All I can think of is that the proximity of my fob to the car is causing this scenario.
Any thoughts?
Test your hypothesis! Bring the FOB into the house and see if it is any different! If the FOB is in the car it will beep 3 times and leave the car unlocked.

Very simple. Obviously the new '19 doesn't trust you yet and is just looking out for your welfare until it does. Try petting the rear spoiler a few times before you say goodnight.
