Default 2016 with FE2 option

I have a 2016 coupe with the FE2 (Magnetic Ride Control $3495.00) option. Everything I have read in GM brochures, order guides, on the Form and other places says that the FE2 option includes the larger wheels and the Z51 spoiler, but the spoiler (because it was included in the option) did not show on the window sticker or the build sheet. My dealer (Davis-Moore) is refusing to do warranty work on my rear bumper (the clear coat is peeling off) because they say that since it does not show the spoiler on the build sheet, my car did not come from the factory with the spoiler. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know of some way to get them understand that they did not show on the build sheet, or is there anyone from the factory that can verify that the FE2 option included the spoiler from the factory?

I don't understand this point: What does the spoiler not being on the build sheet have to do with bumper to bumper warranty? is it that you have a spoiler on and the dealer is saying it was added after the purchase and the paint issue is caused by adding a spoiler?

The clear coat is manily peeling off the bumper around the spoiler so they are saying that since the spoiler was added on they are not responsible. The clear coat is also peeling around the side marker light on the driver's side, but they seem to be ignoring that.

Everything I have read in several GM documents have said that the FE2 option included the big wheels and the spoiler. Several other people on the form have also stated that their FE2 optioned cars had the spoiler and it did not show on the window sticker or the build sheet. I don't think anyone at my dealer or Chevrolet Customer Care has taken the time to do any research and find out anything about this option. They gave me an estimate of $2042.00 to repaint the bumper and have offered to "only" charge me $500.00. I always thought Corvette stood behind their paint. I should not have to pay to have peeling clear coat fixed on a 20,000 mile Corvette. Has anyone else had problems with the clear coat on their Corvettes?

I have a copy of my window sticker. It shows the wheels as a separate cost option from the FE2, but I don't know if that is due them being black aluminum, or the 19"/20" upgrade. There's nothing on the sticker that shows the MSRC option including the spoiler. My car does have the spoiler, and the only mention I see on my build sheet of it is the $100 option for spoiler and outside mirrors being carbon flash. When I was shopping, and trying to learn on the FE2 option, the only thing I saw mentioned about the FE2 was it was not available with the standard 18"/19" wheels, no mention of the spoiler. I would dig deeper and try to find something official saying it was factory included.

Tell them to pull the GMVIS, or look at the option sticker in the trunk. . It lists all the factory options. The very last item on my report is the ZF1 package, which is the one that includes the spoiler. It isn't on the window sticker as an option, but it is listed in both places for my car.

You could refer the GM people to the 2016 Order Guide.

Excerpt:

FE2 NEW! Magnetic Selective Ride Control, includes
Z51-style spoiler, (XFJ) P245/35ZR19 front and
P285/30ZR20 rear, performance, summer-only, run flat
tires and 19” front and 20” rear wheels (select from
Q7S, Q7E, Q7T or QCC wheels, unless ordered with
ZLD/ZLE/ZLG Design Packages which include R86 or
R87 wheels - see package descriptions)
1 - Not available with (QG6/QX1/QX3/RPK) 18" front and
19" rear wheels.

Default FE2 Option

I have a 2016 Coupe with the FE 2 option bought from Davis Moore as well. I was a little surprised to hear of your difficulty with them since I have received nothing but excellent service since I bought it. But my "buy sheet" is like yours except for one thing: I have 19" and 20" wheels. Are you sure you don't have them? There's no mention of the spoiler on the sheet. Nonetheless, I distinctly remember that the MRC, 19" and 20" wheels and spoiler were all part of one package. I had told the salesman that I really didn't care about a spoiler but I recall his saying that I was going to get it, like it or not, because it was all one option.

I'm not sure this would be of any help to you other than to affirm that other folks have that set-up. If Davis Moore wants to talk to me about a verification, I'd be glad to. If that's the case, let me know. Good luck.

I don't know why in the hell a dealer would be such a **** ant on this issue, but imaposser has it right in post number 7.

"Tell them to pull the GMVIS, or look at the option sticker in the trunk. . It lists all the factory options. The very last item on my report is the ZF1 package, which is the one that includes the spoiler. It isn't on the window sticker as an option, but it is listed in both places for my car."

I know someone here locally that had an issue similar to yours. The dealer wasn't trying to be difficult in that particular case. There are so many options that they just missed. But the dealer looked at the option sticker in the hatch and that settled it.
Good luck my friend.

This is pretty much identical to what RickT posted but perhaps will give you some additional ammo in working with the dealer. In the attached PDF, go to page 7 and scroll down to FE 2

I also have a ‘16 with the FE2 MRC. It has the rear spoiler & the Spice Red package. I just found out that the suspension option can not be upgraded per the SB for MSRC.

RPO TTV designates the spoiler. Check your build sticker near the battery.
