How many C7 Mn7 guys know that you can shift from 6th in cruise control to 7th without the cruise control going off. The C6 Mn6 shut off the cruise if you pushed down on the clutch! Interesting?
I always assumed that the cruise control would disengage if you stepped on the brake or the clutch pedal. Next time I take my C7 manual for a drive on the highway, I'll have to see if mine will do the same thing. Truthfully, I find very little use for 7th gear. It's just so darn tall and you really have to be cruising at a very high velocity to use it effectively.
At 90 mph, my 2017 Stingray will snooze along at 2,000 RPMs. Of course, doing 90 mph in Virginia (where the highest limit is 70) is not the wisest idea.
Didn't know that. However, I DID notice on my last 3,000 mile trip that I did not use 7th--only 6th, and the MPG stayed the same, average of 27.5 over 23,000 miles on an unchanged Trip A. I suspect what happens is that in 7th you tend to bog a bit on the slightest incline and don't notice it, resulting in equivalent mileage.

Yup - knew this. First manual I ever had which did not disengage the cruise control when changing gears.
Same here... its a great feature.

Not that I remember, but when I used it I didn't have rev match on. It works just like hitting resume. Once your are in the next gear (up or down) and the RPMs return automatically to maintain the previous set cruise speed.
Not only just going from 6th - 7th but between any two gears in any direction. I use this often like when in 7th (there's lots of opportunity to use 7th gear on the highways out in the Southwest) and going uphill. You feel the engine struggling and just downshift to 6th for a while.
Note you can monitor this by looking at the tiny speedometer gauge in the main screen. Next to it will be a number - your set MPH on the cruise. It'll be 0 if you haven't set cruise control yet. It'll be green if cruise control is on, white if you've turned it off. So when you're under cruise control and you start shifting you can observe how long it stays green while shifting. If you wait too long the cruise will disengage.

I use 7th all the time. When cruising at 75-80 on the interstate it adds a few MPG. Why not? I am just driving straight and keeping a constant speed. And apparently, a thread just taught me that I can shift from 6 to 7 without disengaging the cruise. lol
Interesting as I have not used the cruise control as I am still doing the break-in but I did find this out on my 2019 mustang and thought at first it was an anomaly because my gt350 didn't.
