Rain, OMG!
Purposely took my 2014 vert for a ride today because of a chance for rain. Two weeks ago had to leave an event thru mud.. I knew the underside was totaled. Downpour today on the rain home and the car did not melt. Amazing! I really enjoyed riding in the rain, Only ice or snow will stop me now.

I love it when forum members smugly tell us their cars didn't melt in the rain and like to throw the fact into everyone else's face. Obviously, no car is going to "melt" in the rain. However, there is a lot of wet trash and road grim that gets splashed up into the engine compartment and every other crack and crevice in the car when driving in the rain, mud, sand, gravel, salt, and other adverse conditions. Over time, the moisture and other contaminants cause corrosion and stains that cannot be easily removed. If your C7 is just another car to you or your daily driver then who cares. I don't really need to know about it. To me, mine is not just another car. There are those of use that prefer to keep their toy/show cars pristine clean and I am one of them. I have other vehicles that I drive in the rain, mud, etc. In my view there is a vehicle for every purpose. Once I take delivery of a new toy car and get it thoroughly clean, it never again gets washed with water or driven in adverse conditions. I just dust them off and add another coat of polish or clean them up with detail spray. After a drive, the engine compartment is thoroughly cleaned as well. Ridiculous to some, but enjoyable to me.

Yes. Amazing, isn't it... it's called a "car."

Gotta love "W" Weather Mode! I've used it through some pretty nasty stuff myself.

I do not enjoy driving in the rain and as a result I don't drive my corvette. I only drive in the rain when I have to go somewhere.

If I get caught in the rain, so be it. However, it is not my favorite weather condition to drive in as it means I have to do more to get the car clean again. And yes, I enjoy driving a nice, clean car.

Not in love with detailing the car so I avoid the pleasure of driving in the rain.

Yep, pretty damn cool car! I love driving in the rain. It gives me an excuse to wipe her down!

Living off the coast of Seattle I will drive in the rain or I won't be driving. Worrying about rain has always seemed prissy to me.

I don’t like driving my C7 in the rain but there is no way I’m not driving it if the sun is shining and the weatherman says there is a chance of rain. I have driven through heavy thunderstorms many times especially this year. If I wait for a perfect forecast then my car will never leave the garage. Driving my car is a blast and even though looking at it is nice it doesn’t compare.

I drove mine home from the dealership in the rain. Was three weeks of ownership before I even saw it clean!

Drove mine on Saturday rained like a sob. This morning I spent about an hour of my Sunday washing and drying my car. I don't enjoy it at all lol.
I like to polish and wax the car in my buddy's shop while we are all hanging out.
but for some reason the washing part feels like a "job" and not therapy lol.
