Default New C7’s? How long?

Thinking about buying a new C7 and wondering how long will the dealers will still have them around? I am in Florida. Predictions?

Ordering one is pretty much DOA. Taking one out of existing dealer inventory? You need to shop around.

How long? No one knows

I am not exceptionally picky as to trim lines and color. So I can wait. Interested in the best pricing.

Well generally Corvettes don't fly off dealer lots so I would say you have quite some time. There was several thousand sitting on dealer lots a few months ago, Im sure that number has since gone up.

If not exceptionally picky as to trim lines and color, you should have some time as there's quite a bit of dealer inventory remaining. However depending on how well the new C8 is received, it's possible that the existing C7 inventory could go quicker than many expect.

If you are not too picky, you will have no problem with the selection that is currently out there

You have until tomorrow at noon to purchase one. After that, GM will recall all that unsold C7s. They will be loaded onto auto carriers and trains and brought back to Bowling Green. Once they arrive they will be stripped of electronics and then recycled the same as plastic bottles and aluminum cans to make the C8. Better hurry.....

Do a search on cars dot com. Right now there are 48 pages, 100 cars/page of new corvettes on lots. I sorted lowest price and the first dozens are all from Florida dealers, although i made the search nationwide. The cheapest were about $11,000 off msrp $56,950. Also, the plant restarted after the july 4 week long holiday, still making C7's, so more fun in store.

Mike furman said this in his sunday newsletter:
Act today Monday or Tuesday if you are wanting a Factory order for a C7 coupe Stingray or Grand Sport, for this Tuesday the 16th is your last chance to order your C7, 2019 Corvette! ]
.

So, try a late night call tonight to mike, or go on cars.com or autotrader.net, or car gurus, find one optioned the way you want, do a pricewatch on it at the dealers website, and act when you think the price drops to where you want it to be, or watch the email come in, "this car has been sold"

I think there will be a decent selection until around the end of September, then the pickings will start getting slim in October and November. If you aren't picky and want to wait until the last minute, I know some of the forum dealers will most likely blow out the last 4 or 5 that are left in stock just to get rid of them. The ones that are left towards the end are either extremely well optioned or lacking in options. The popular colors that are optioned well are the first to sell out.

I think you will have at least a couple of months to decide what you want - especially since you say you are not too picky on options/colors. However, do not wait too long as inventory of new C7s could change quickly.

I think there will still be a lot well into Q1 next year. There are so many on dealer lots right now it's insane. And they aren't exactly selling at a fast pace. Now that could change if Chevy starts offering incentives like they did in late '17 when you could get about 20% off a car. But I don't think the C8 will do anything that will help or hurt current inventory. Pricing is what is going to move them and if they don't lower prices they wont move.

My guess would be for quite a while, there are plenty of deals to be had. I don't think they've announced any date for the C8.

My opinion having lived through the end of the C6 and now the C7, is that prices are probably about as low as they are going to regularly go right now, so the longer you wait from this point forward, the less inventory you will have to choose from with little if any reduced pricing to compensate. If you're serious, I'd just start shopping now.

+/-20% off is about as good as it will get outside of isolated extreme cases.

I haven't shopped a ton since buying mine in May (MacMulkin), but that seemed to be about the standard number then?
I was about about 21% off including owner loyalty, probably would have been just short of 20% without it.
