Default 7 speed manuel or 8 speed automatic

i am looking to get a grand sport in the near future i noticed there are more automatics than manuels on the lot.is it because people don't care for shifting anymore or don't know how to drive a stick?

I'm 6'6 and theres no room with long legs and size 17 feet unless my foot sits on the clutch, and I sit in traffic most days going home, so no.

I love my M7 but would LOVE if I could push a button to have an automatic on my daily home in traffic

Depends. If daily driver with traffic greater than 20min go auto. If sunny day car or short commute go manual.

I have 19 Z06 auto. Love it but do miss the manual on weekends. My commute is around 30miles mostly in traffic.

M7 is the only way to go! 465HP and all that torque to just tinker with as you wish...awesome fun! I don't track, or care to, but I like having fun driving, and nothing beats a manual. That's just my experience though, some must not like it for whatever reason, or unless your really big like Vadar, or Jack Reacher

The 8 speed auto's have a not so good reputation, get the 7 speed manual if you have any desire to drive a manual.

My solution is two cars - auto for the traffic, and the C7 M7 for the road.

The buying public seems to enjoy the convenience of the automatic anymore. I have an A6 in mine and have been putting the car in M and using the paddle shifters more than I used to. While not quite the same as an M7 tranny, I still have a lot of fun driving the car and shifting with the paddles. I’m sure others will agree that the C7 is still a sports car without the M7 in it.

Really it comes down to what tranny you would prefer. Either way, the car is a hoot.

A proper sports car has a manual transmission, period.

For those of us without blown out knees or who don't have to commute every day, M7 baby

Ferrari stopped selling manual transmission cars in 2011.

Oddly, I have found its newer cars to still be "proper sports cars." I am apparently easily satisfied.

I see the consensus here is to go with the Manuel which I plan on.both of my cars that I currently won are Manuels and I never could understand why anyone would buy an automatic unless like the one gentleman was too tall for it.

As I always tell people if you are asking get an auto. For manual guys an auto isn’t optional.

Bad left knee and traffic. I opted for auto and really enjoy it.

I believe both. Only 18% of american drivers can operate a manual trans according to a US New & World Report article. The last production numbers I saw M7s make up only about 23% of total C7 sales. I was looking for a manual when I purchased my GS, however couldn't
find one in the color-combo and other features I wanted so went with a A8 and glad I did.

Manual Period!!! Unless it's your daily driver in heavy traffic everyday, or a bad leg or knee.

That number seems ridiculously low but I believe it since I only saw a few manuals on the lot.very disappointing
