I was looking at a 2014, Z51, 3LT auto, performance exhaust , chrome wheels, triple blk vert with 5800 miles 2 owner. the car is at a small motorsports dealer
he would take$ 47,500 from $49,900. for those who recently bought or are looking at buying around this time , does that sound like a fair price for these cars
I sold my 02 Z06 this year and wanted to upgrade to a C7, thanks for any input.
Without looking up the MSRP for those options, my sense is you can do better. Even though it's a 3LT vert, it is a 2014 and you should push for around $40,000 or less.

Way to much $, you can buy 2019's for that amount.
Get the vin and plug it into carvana and see what they would give for it. It will be lower but if it's significantly lower then you know you "should" have room to negotiate, or there is something wrong with the car, or he over paid for it. For reference I have a '17 Z51 coupe, 7k miles, 2lt, auto, performance exhaust, pdr, and the what ever the sliver/black upgraded wheels are called and KBB said 45-48k on trade and carvana offered 44.7k. Obviously the convertible and 3lt will add a little premium on the car you are looking at but you will lose a little for the year. He's gonna have to make his money, but you can always offer lower and see what he says. No way you get can get a '19 Z51, 3LT, Convertible for under 50k as some have mentioned but you can probably get one in the mid 50s. With those options it's a 75k sticker so for a 19 under 50k it has to have something wrong or very high mileage. I got mine new Jan last year when chevy had those massive discounts and it stickered for 70k and I got it for 55k, that was just over 20% off. A convertible and 3LT is going to be even more.
One thing for sure is that there are plenty of C7's new and used out there so if you don't find the deal you are looking for keep searching.

Last November I bought my 2014 2LT coupe with Nav, NPP, and chrome wheels with 2600 miles on it for $40.5K. I would think that you could do better even though it has the 3LT package on it.

It's a Z51, that is about a 5k option at msrp, add in the 3lt and it's over a 10k option for the two. Then a convertible is another 4k at mrsp. Those three things are around 15k at retail over base. He may get a little better than 47k but not much, the car new just with the options he's listed is almost 80k. Kbb has a trade in value with it in very good condition at 43-46k. KBB may not be 100% accurate but it's a good starting point.
Seems most people are comparing it to a base stingray and not a Z51. However to the OP make a lower offer, wont hurt to ask but I don't see him going much lower than 47 on it unless he's had it for a very long time.

In SC the State uses Black Book value for property tax purposes as do banks for loan value. It's free to get an estimate, just google. This is what it says for my Zip Code for a car in excellent condition:
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 2dr Z51 Conv w/3LT
Zip Code: 29xxx | Mileage: 5,800 (I plugged in Black/Black Vert)
Range $25,615 - $43,400 If your selling
Black Book also shows the "Expect Dealer to Offer You Price" = $25,615 - $40,175 (condition dependent)
IMO, $47,000 is too much. But OP's money. Although 5800 miles is not "too low IMO," I prefer a car that is driven more often that a garage queen that mostly made 2 to 3 miles trips to the store. Bad for engine!
Knowing what was paid is irrelevant! It's the current market value, just like selling a stock (except in that case cost is an issue for tax implications.) Current market value for a 1963 Split Window means nothing that it only cost $3500 new!

I wouldn't trust what a state uses for tax purposes. My state does something similar and it's never accurate. Not all banks use black boom either, some use nada, some blue book, thats all bank dependent. He can always make a lower offer but used car markup isnt near what new car markup is. Unless you go to one of those bad credit dealers where they know they can get you.
Cars.com has 20 2014 Z51 verts (various trim) under 10K miles listed starting at $44.9. With 75% at/below $50K. Asking price seems reasonable. If it ticks all the boxes and is super clean shoot for $45K and seller/buyer are both taken care of.
thanks for all the good comments, I was also thinking 45 is a decent buying price, I will go with that and see what happens, I don't think these small motorsport dealers have that much room on pricing
but they seem to have some good examples of sport cars.
I've been watching the market for a 2014 Stingray vert in Florida. The dealers are all over the place on prices of similar cars and the ads don't come down. I've landed on a 14 SR coupe, 3lt w/31k miles, auto, Torch Red very sharp and drove great. I'll try to get it for $36k.
I own a '14 Z51 Conv. 1LT 7MT with 15.5K and I could get, maybe, 43K......yours is a little high (1 - 2 K) but if it is as nice as it can be it depends how much this particular car is desired.....
The problem with most of the responses to this thread is, the OP's example is a Vert, NOT a coupe, and that's a big price difference. If it was a coupe then yes, the price is too high. However, a 3LT vert, Z51 with an A6, triple black is pretty hard to find.
OP,, I would find out if the car has magnetic ride control. If it does, I think your $45 offer is pretty fair. See where it goes.
I spent the last 4 months shopping. A few weeks ago, I bought a 16 vert 3lt, non Z51, but NPP and mag ride, plus a bunch of other options that pushed it's MSRP up to $78k. 9k miles, certified preowned for $46.7k. Those saying anywhere near $40k for a highly optioned vert are crazy. Closest I came was a similar optioned 15 with a few more miles from a private party for $43.5k, and a nearly zero option 15 1lt dealer certified preowned for $44k. Unless you are just dead set on buying the absolute cheapest vert you can find, you're going to pay more to get what you want.
Least I would take for my 2014 Z51 3LT 7M vert with 9K miles is $47K... I think the price is spot on for what you are looking at... probably cheaper ones out there but buyer beware always applies! good luck with your search. CJ

Exactly, either people are comparing it to a coupe or a non z51 or a 2LT instead of 3LT. Those are three very pricey options. I think he should try for a lower number number because who wants to spend more than they have to but I don't think the dealer will go to much lower based on what the OP says the specs are. Unless the car has some issues to it.
I just purchased a 14' Z51 3LT M7 28k miles for $41.5k in Indiana.
Be aware of the issues with 3LT (that I did not know prior), mainly the leather dash glue failing (which causes the dash to slowly come up... $3500 repair, no DIY option to fix).
