Yesterday I noticed the drivers side headlight went out. When you start the car it comes on for a min or so and goes out, sometimes coming back on. Looks like the bulb to me. I know changing a bulb on a C7 is a pain but has there been any advancements in doing it easy? Perhaps pulling out the headlight section without bumper removal?
Note: the color seems a little off, little more yellow than ultra white on left if it comes on (right side is normal)
Fingers crossed for something not dealer, as its a 2014 and most warranty over. 10/19 for the 5 year warranty power train I believe
If you have to remove the front end, I suggest you change both bulbs. If your luck is like mine, the other headlight would go out about 2 weeks after I changed the first one.
A real really, really stupid PITA, but if any consolation I'm willing to bet the C8 will be even worse! There has been at least one post here on an "easy" front-end removal. You might want to search for if nothing else. Good luck!
Does C7 use a ballast?
Wondering because C6 does for each HL assembly, had one go bad on my C6.
Learned it was a bad ballast after dealer first replaced bulb. At my expense, of course.
Typical dealership nonsense.
