I've always appreciated Vettes, but never felt they were right for me until I drove a family members C5 a few years ago and was hooked. I decided last weekend the time was right to start looking seriously, and was thinking a C6 Grand Sport, then realized for just a "little more" I could get a used C7 (my preference), then realized for just a "little more" I could get a heavily discounted 2019...so yesterday I took the plunge and purchased a 2019 Grand Sport 2LT ! I don't actually get it until next week, but I don't think I've been this excited about anything since I was a kid. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I did it all by phone/keyboard and haven't actually seen the car in person, or even driven a C7. Should be a pretty shocking change from the 2004 350Z that I've had for 13 years.

Just wanted to say hi, I know there's a wealth of knowledge here and I'm sure to have a pile of questions in the future!

You will enjoy the ride - the looks and feel of your GS. DId you get an Auto or manual? Not to be a bummer are you aware of the cracked rims issue?

A C5 was the first vette I drove too. If you liked that you're gonna LOVE driving the C7! Congrats

As you've probably seen the guys on this forum have a wealth of knowledge. I learn something pretty much every day.

Ex- 2003 Nissan 350Z Touring owner here, had mine for 7 years ...the C7 is in a whole different league

It will be interesting to compare notes after you start driving it. For me the biggest difference and what got me to purchase a C7 was the ride quality with mag-ride suspension. I got sick of my Z beating me up every day on my commute. Yet a twist of the **** to Track mode and the C7 gets that full race car "on rails" feel. I think the Z rode somewhere between Sport and Track but no where near as smooth especially on transitions. On track it felt like the Z was actively trying to kill me and made you work to get the most out of it, where the C7 is helping you to drive better and allows you to fully enjoy the experience of driving fast. With the right tires the Z was neutral with just a hint of understeer where as the C7's PTM modes all you to rotate it much easier. She's just a bigger girl that packs a punch so it requires more planning and better throttle control. Jury is still out of the steering as I am still adapting to it with only 4 tracks days.

What I miss about my Z is its smaller size and lower dash / hood. The C7 actually has better rear and side visibility (due to mirror position) but out the front the Z was near perfection. The C7's front end seems vague, I have trouble telling where the front wheels and bumper actually are because its so long and has those massive wheel aches. Storage space is great in the C7 because no more silly suspension tower brace back there. Interior is a little tighter because the trans tunnel is higher and the dash wraps around you more - similar to my '96 Eclipse GST.

Welcome and enjoy!

That's the way to do it. Make a decision and don't let anything stand in your way.

Great job & Congratulations! You made a wise choice.

And as stated above, please post some photos of your new ride.

Thanks everyone for the welcome and all the info! I don't want to total up the number of hours I've spent on this site this weekend, but I've learned so much already. Who knew a few days could feel like an eternity, but I'll post pics when I get it on Wednesday.
