Default CarPlay help lease

So I have an iPhone x max and carplay has always worked in my 2016. I recently removed the center console and when i put it back together my CarPlay will not connect. I checked all the wires are connected. The phone cjharges on the cable but CarPlay says to connect a device to use CarPlay. I turned my phone off and pn I disconnected both CarPlay and bluetooth and reconnected still nothing. When I look up connected devices to CarPlay on my phone it just spins and doesn't show my car but in the settings in the car it shows iPhone, but won't connect. Any ideas at all? I am desperate now. Thank you

When I connect to the USB behind the radio the CarPlay works fine. So the usb in the center console charges the phone but won't launch CarPlay!!The usb behind the radio

I have a 2014 vette and I don't even use that stuff so just put a music player on your phone whether it is android or Iphone and use blue tooth obviously you have to pair the cellphone first and you would have to manually select each album separately !!! Wayne

I think the key point here is that you removed the center console, and despite what you think, you didn't get something reassembled properly.

You need to enable carplay in your phone itself.
https://www.wikihow.tech/Set-Up-CarPlay-on-an-iPhone

Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and make sure that CarPlay is enabled. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, and tap Forget This Car

Got to go with Foosh on this one, especially after reading post number two.

The CarPlay in my 17 Z doesn’t work either. Used to work sporadically, now not at all. Same IPhone works every time in my GF’s 19 Stingray. To my knowledge, mycenter console has never been part. Tried 3 different cords, all work in the Stingray with this iPhone. Both cars show as My Link in the IPhone, so the phone doesn’t appear to be the problem. When I plug the phone in the Z and turn off Bluetooth, it will still play music. Just no CarPlay. Going to take it in for a panel alignment under warranty so i’ll have them look for a software update on the CarPlay issue while it’s there.

Well turns out the new GM waterfall console piece has a faulty USB connector. I took the one out of the original piece that came with the car and surprise it works fine. I knew it had to be something like that because there is literally no way to connect the wires back incorrectly. Problem solved thank you to all that responded

Oh well if you don’t use it I don’t see why anyone else would want to. Thanks for all you do!

May sound dumb but is Car Play turned on in the MyLink settings? If it is, is it see your phone in manage device?

You don’t use it on your 14 because you don’t have it. There was no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on 14’s.
