I watched the Reveal.......
and, today, I drove over to Kerbeck. And, ordered a new C7. I was ready to buy a C8 until they took the camo off. Short nose, long deck, no manual. For the life of me I couldn't see myself driving around in it. It may be fast and cheap. But, it didn't look like a Vette ordered a Z51 Stingray Coupe, 1LT, seven speed, Mag Ride, Machine Face Wheels, Carbon Flash Stinger, Black Emblems.

The C7 you ordered is OBSOLETE ... I understand that Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but in a couple of years the C7 will be like the C5, C6...meaning, no one will give it a second look....I too watched the Reveal and said WOW....and when they come out with the Z06, I'M BUYING!!!
PS- What a DUMB post.

Color me confused. I thought all orders for C7 were done/closed?
Not disputing the assessment, however.

To what? Every year fewer and fewer cars are available with manual transmissions. At this point what are your choices? Porsche, GT350, Camaro for a few more years, M2/M4 for now. That's about it. The push for fuel economy and hybridization will kill off most of what is left. I've been driving manual cars since 1992 but the handwriting is on the wall, they are going to die and the vast majority of the world doesn't care.

All I know is I’m not knocking my C5Z06 I had for years and looked awesome. Had compliments on the car. But nothing like my C7 Z06. The C7 body style is not going to be overlooked by the C8. Pretty much every where I go with my C7 Z06 I get someone asking about it. Talking to me about it or guys putting there hands out the window giving me thumbs up. This car draws attention!!

I was able to order a C7 past the cutoff date that I read about in the press...that was about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I ordered a manual...no interest in an auto Vette (and I've owned Vette's the past 35 years)...I'll switch brands if they don't add a manual to their lineup again in future.

What I see are two "TOTALLY " different cars equally outstanding and both beautiful.

Just like YOU I am entitled to MY opinion....And the DUMB post was YOURS...Obliviously you know NOTHING about cars because if you did you would understand that FORM FOLLOW FUNCTION...and a Mid Engine car has a short front end... I personally don't care whether YOU like it or not....I KNOW I DO and that's all that counts...as far myself and Tadge thinking the C7 is obsolete....I guess I'm in good company...and when the sales records are published after the first sales year I think some 40,000 car buyers will fell the same way....

If dealer has order that was accepted but not at 3000 they can change it to what you want this is probably what they did.

Amen. If you like the C7 or your current car, great. Drive what you want, buy what you want. The C8 is the next step in the evolution of the Corvette and there will be plenty of buyers lining up to get one. Yes it is different, but change happens.

BTW, nothing wrong with buying a C7

What makes differences of opinion rise to inflammatory levels is the use of extreme language. The C7 will not become "obsolete" overnight. The use of "obsolete" is so extreme it influences people to be less willing to deal with different opinions calmly, it leaves no room for discussion. Rarely is life 100% or nothing but people become dismissive and use such language because it's easier to deal in black and white than it is grey ("worst color ever and whomever likes grey is obsolete")...whew, enjoy your Vettes and enjoy other's as well.
Me, I'll stick with my C7, partially because of finances and partially because I would miss my ("obsolete") stick. But the C8 is very cool and so well priced it will kick some retail sales *** (woops).

C8 continues Corvette's quest for maximum performance. (Lots of us, me included, drive C7 as a street GT, but the designers are always pushing further than that.)

I watched, and I thought it was a PSA for NASA! It was very disappointing-the show not the car!
