Default New warning

My 2014 C7 did not have this warning. My 2019 displays it only occasionally at start up. I'm not sure when GM added it.

My 2014 occasionally gives me a similar warning upon start up, not sure if it is identical but pretty sure the acknowledgement choice is "Dismiss". Build date is June 2014 if that helps.

That's interesting. My 2014 never did it. It was built in March 2014. It must have been added after that.

As does my 2018.

It seems to appear randomly, unrelated to anything which is happening.

Of course, there is the irony that one has to take your eyes off of the road to figure out why your screen suddenly went black and is displaying some white text.

Mine only comes up at Start up when it does happen. I think it's on some cycle like every 15 or 20 starts.

I will pay more attention. I am driving when it displays and the car is moving. But I have not paid any attention as to how long after the car was last started.
Thanks.

I bought my 2014 in January 2016. I've never seen that same warning until last week when we had a ride to the Hendrick HQ outside Charlotte. When I started the Vette outside of the shops that warning came up. First time I can recall seeing it in over three years. I've never had the GPS updated.
Strange.

Yes, yet another stupid distraction. Drivers could be looking at their phones!

My 15 does it frequently but I use my GPS a great deal - 88K miles, just short of 5-years ownership......

Can't say I've noticed that on my '19, UNLESS I try to do something it thinks I shouldn't. But I've never seen it at start up, unmolested

Good point. I rarely use my GPS, but used it in both directions from home to the Hendrick shops. That might explain why it popped up after all this time.

I didn't have Nav on my 2014. I wonder if that makes a difference? Not really an issue, just a curiously.

Mine does it--even when the passenger is navigating. PITA but still a first world problem.

My '14 does it now but didn't when it was new. Nav has been updated a couple of times but I'm not sure which one changed it. My '16 did it from the start when it was new.

Never seen that on my 2014... but I've only used the built in Nav maybe 3 or 4 times total in a year.

My '14 does that message. I think it counts the engine starts and at some silly number, flashes that message on the screen.
