Default Electric steering unit leak???

I was looking over my engine compartment this evening on my 2017 GS. All looks super clean, but then I noticed some oil residue around the seams of what I'm guessing is the electric power steering assist unit. Am I being silly to take this into the dealer for inspection?

In the middle bottom part of the photo you can see what I think is the electric power assist. It sits on top of the steering rack. You can see some oil residue around the seam of the unit.

I had the same yellow/greenish residue all over my steering gear as well. My 2017 Stingray fell under under the power steering recall which I had the dealer do about a week ago. The new steering gear is perfectly, no residue anywhere. Not sure if this leak has any correlation with the power steering recall but it might. Log onto my.chevrolet.com and check to see if your car falls under the recall.

Here's a TSB that says external oil / grease may not be a problem:

The new rack installed for the recall on my 17 GS has the yellow gunk on it. The old rack did not. I have been keeping an eye on it here in the 110C AZ heat and it does not appear to be getting worse. I think they just got a little sloppy with gasket sealer when the rack was manufactured. We will see what happens in the next few months.
